is / are your precision limit(s) your allowable percentage of misstatements +/- your assessed risk of getting it wrong? for example you estimate that 8% of the sample will be misstated with a 1% risk that you assessed this too high- so would your upper limit of precision be 9% and lower level be 7%???

and they ask me why I drink...

That sounds right but I don't think we ever look at or care about “lower limits”.

Great Dab- I think you are right but it is mentioned in the def. of precision so I figure better safe than sorry 🙂 stat sampling is killing me along with transaction cycles- I am not ready at all for tomorrow but with an expiring NTS I will go give it my best shot… ugh….

I haven't taken aud yet but I think they'll ask questions about everything. So I think as long as your pretty familiar with everything, you should be good.

    I hope ur right @dab.

As far as the audit reports.

I believe i have a good handle on the basic unmodified audit report
mr dim repport crame – for becker

As well as the many of the adjustments need if it was adverse. qualified, dlsclaimer etc

But I don't not have a good handle on the compilation report, review and all the other ones.

How did everyone else go about studying for the reports. Did you guys just memorize all the reports?

Has anyone who has taken audit prior had many questions regarding detail in the reports?

@hhung1485 – This is from a few pages from last week (around page 15 in this thread) that we discused this if you want to go back and check it.

Examination – you express an opinion that the practitioner obtains reasonable assurance about whether the subject matter, or an assertion about the subject matter, is free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error.

Review – you express a conclusion that the practitioner obtains limited assurance about whether any material modification should be made to the subject matter in order for it be in accordance with (or based on) the criteria or to an assertion about the subject matter in order for it to be fairly stated. In a review, the nature and extent of the procedures are substantially less than in an examination.

AUP – you report on the application of AUP that the practitioner applies procedures determined by the specified parties who are the intended users of the practitioner’s report and who are responsible for the sufficiency of the procedures for their purposes. As a result of the engagement, the practitioner reports on the results of the engagement but does not provide an opinion or conclusion on the subject matter or assertion I.e Disclaimer)

Also I memorized these tables to have everything of SSAE in its corresponding category:
A2 – 77 – what type of report (examination, compilation, review, AUP) goes with what attest service
A2 – 90 – explains when are prospective financial statements used and how are they reported on
    A2 – 91 – A more detailed table from A2-90

@aatoural my experience was slightly different then yours. The first testlet I felt was medium..which I apparently didn't do great on because my second testlet was easy and third was hard. The sims were manageable. There was one DRS which was far more then copying numbers over. It was actually a hybrid between looking at the documentation and doing adjusting entries (that's as far as I will go). It was a beast to say the least..luckily it was over an area I've been doing for years in my “real world” job so I was familiar with it but just the time it took to go through everything took a ton of time. One of the sims I was able to get the answers directly from the AL which was a sigh of relief. Research I should have gotten correct as well. There were a couple others I think I held my own but I know I didn't get everything correct. Overall I'd say MCQ's are going to be what keeps me hovering around the pass/fail. There was one topic in particular I probably got 5 or so MCQ's on and I don't ever remember covering it!

My 2nd REG exam I counted my chickens before they hatched. I thought the exam was cake, even went as far as telling people I had passed. 1am rolls around hit the refresh button '74'!!! I was in disbelief–since then I will never assume I have passed. I always expect the worst and hope for the best!

I always do that and people ask me why I want to be negative. I guess they don't understand the stress and I feel if I tell myself I don't think I passed maybe if that actually is the case I won't be as in chock as if I had thought, oh yeah I passed for sure.
