Who here has some good mnemonics to memorize these reports?
What do you think are the biggest concepts to understand for a successful exam?

Thank you for your help in advanced. I took FAR on August 12th and have slowly transitioned to AUD. I am scheduled to take the exam Sept. 8th but might move it accordingly to how much I get done.

    Currently in A2 of Beckers.

Just finished the Ninja MCQs, all 1630 of them. Average of 81%. Better than my average on FAR (74%) and REG (77%). Next 2 days I will be doing the Ninja simulations and then it's prometric time (those bastards tried to cancel my appointment). Don't think I'll have time to do the Wiley Testbank simulations, like I had planned. Oh well, screw it. Main thing is to memorize those ratios that will likely show up in the simulations. I did poorly on the ratio simulations that CPAExcel has.

kanwal78 I will third the push back option- I wish I had that option but my NTS is expiring so I am forced to sit knowing that likely I will re-test. I was like allaboard except with FAR- I KNEW I wasn't ready- I was almost there but not quite- and like a dumba@@ I was too stupid or stubborn or something and didn't reschedule and of course I failed…. BEC I knew a week in advance I wasn't quite there and rescheduled– and got ready…. so anyway sorry for rambling I have study brain 🙂 long story short- I think right now you have time but don't rule out the reschedule option if you don't feel ready….

@circadian- I am seriously jealous of that average GOOD LUCK…

and they ask me why I drink...

FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

Thank you guys. This was after doing all the CPAExcel questions and reading the textbook, so that helps. Not sure how other people use Ninja MCQs.

I am guessing that pensions is one of the FAR like simulations in AUD.

@Papogator – do you remember what SIMS from FAR touches that? Since I haven't done FAR I have no clue, but would want to touch up a bit just in case.

Not to sure either but @trele6 (on this page) mention that he recently took the exam and recommends to study pension… I havn't come across anything even slightly making reference to pensions in AUD so if anyone knows what trele6 is talking about please shed some light!

On another note, having some difficulty understanding written assertions (Becker A2-82). What are written assertions? They are required for examination and review engagements, but not required for agreed-upon procedures.

assertions are the UPERCV or COCACURVE

written assertions are the management report acknowledging that they are making those assertions in the financial statements.

assertions are things that management says about the financial statements. I.E. the inventory balance is complete, inv balance is valued correctly, all of the inventory i recorded exist etc.

I used Becker, not sure which chapter covered pension audits/professionalism but you definitely need to give it a good read. I think it was only a page or two but it was tested heavier than that for me.

First go at the CPA! Only using Becker
