I am 58 and have been an eligible candidate for years. I have worked full time – 10 years at a public accounting firm- and been raising 3 kids, never really feeling like i had time enough to study. Meanwhile people were passing and passing. I passed two sections (then got a 73 then 2- 74s on BEC- really) then lost the credits I had due to life interfering with my study time again. I am now in the position to study full time- for the first time ever and I am making a plan. It would be great to have some encouragement. Has anyone as old as I am ever tackled the exam???

Thanks, monikernc! I also thought you were much younger. My millennial fellow students were all very nice to me through the whole process, and my profs were outstanding!

was good for me to see this today, too.

2 of my managers and 2 of the partners over my department are about 10 years younger than me….I often feel older than everyone else and so far behind in my career.

    Good luck to you, Cjsr!
You've got me beat by 2 years; I'll be 59 next month. Little better than entry level, too!

Good luck to you too, mastump! Thank you for the encouragement, we're in this together! Sorry, monikernc, I didn't mean to misstep! Besides, 60 is the new 40 anyway.

HA that 2021 isn't the year I graduate, it's the year I retire, well from working for someone else anyway. Nice surprise to see so many um ‘mature' candidates here.

I haven't gotten a lot of positive feedback at work – not negative either – just puzzlement that I'd put myself through the expense and hoop jumping this late in my career.

    monikernc,

Since you only used Ninja and MCQ, what was the total hours you spent on the MCQ per section? I have Gleim and subscribed to Ninja. Just wanted to gauge what you did to pass all 4.

I finished the GLeim section for FAR and only logged 30 hours in Ninja FAR MCQ and got a 69 on last Feb. So, this time I am just hitting all Ninja MCQ.

    Thanks,

    Dlu
