Just started my new job and after looking around at what everyone was wearing, I feel I need to step up my business casual attire! Does anyone recommend any good places to get work clothes that won’t break the bank?

When I was in audit, I used a hideous company issued backpack— it was incredibly ugly. But like you, after months of trying to wobble around in heels while carrying a laptop, power cord, internet cord (i worked in audit before wifi), workpaper binders (again, I worked in the days before everything was electronic), AND office supplies, I gave up on trying to look cool.

I did, however, take the backpack off when I walked into the client, and just carried it like a briefcase.

Tumi has cute travel-related carrying cases/bags/luggage, I saw some cute laptop bags at the outlet mall this past weekend. Other than that I don't know much about the brand… seems kinda pricey.

I love Tumi but it is VERY pricey! Rue La La has Tumi as a boutique for steep discounts from time to time. Very quality products but you do pay for them at Tumi!

I'm thinking about asking Santa for this bag from Lo & Sons for Christmas:

It's pricey also but a pal of mine has one and it's very high quality and professional looking. And it holds everything and the kitchen sink and would be a great work bag too! Most laptop bags and backpacks are hideous IMHO (sorry!!!) so I love that this tote has a padded compartments for your laptop and tablet. I love the short video clip on the site of how much stuff the model fits into the tote! 🙂
