InactiveJust started my new job and after looking around at what everyone was wearing, I feel I need to step up my business casual attire! Does anyone recommend any good places to get work clothes that won’t break the bank?

ParticipantI am obsessed with MK ( Michael Kors) I absolutely love all his clothes and shoes…… I don't wear too many accessories but I do wear an MK watch that makes everything look good 🙂 My problem with shopping is that I stick to the same colors… I like dark colors like black, browns, burgundys, and gold. I dont wear anything bright so i guess im not always following fashion trends …. I love gold so I have noticed that having a gold watch makes everything better no need to add more jewelry if you dont have a lot. I would recommend if you like MK purses or clothes, watches, shoes… go to Marshalls, TJ Maxx or Macy's. Nordstroms has the same items as Macy's but at higher prices…. Macy's lets you use the red coupons for clothes and shoes 🙂 If you are looking for a nice elegant purse give the Michael Kors Hamilton Purse a try! I have it in black and another one black with gold… very nice purse and fits lots of things…..
for those with frizzy hair issues try the brazilian blowout it really does work and you can literally wash your hair and let it dry on its own and it will look good, straight and silky 🙂
My reward to myself once I pass the CPA will be a Louis Vuitton purse <3 can't wait for that day to come 🙂

MemberI just has a little retail therapy! I went to uniqlo got an inexpensive winter coat for this weight gain I'm experiencing, plus some cold winter accessories. Then I hit up sephora for some make up, express for some new pants, and then some holiday gifts.
Made me feel temporarily better how I'll feel later who knows…..
A - 61, 91!!
B - 78!
F - 76!!!
R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!Finally done!
This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

InactiveReviving this good thread! Soo……..help a girl out! I have a company issued laptop carrying case which is hideous! After almost 2 months of working in audit my shoulder is starting to hurt from having to carry that laptop, second monitor, and endless amounts of wires and plugs in that bag. I thought about asking for a company backpack but don't feel that will look really professional and yet again…..hideous!! Do you girls have any recommendations on were to get a cute laptop tote?

ParticipantI switched my laptop bag to backpack right away during training week. haha. The backpack is pure black (no flashy company logo, etc) so I think that looks professional.
Maybe try longchamp le pliage? The bag is very light and durable.
Passed

InactiveMy old laptop fit in a really cute leather bag that my best friend gave me for my college graduation. But it died a very slow, very violent death. I had to buy a new laptop (got an Alienware 17″ and it is wayyyyy bigger and heavier than my old one.) I bought a laptop case from Alienware because I wanted to make sure Thor (new laptop has personality!) would fit and was safe. Plain black with the Alienware alien head on it.

ParticipantI got a bag from the Coach outlet that I used as a laptop bag (confession: the bag is actually a ‘diaper bag', but no one knows that!). It's a decent size and has a long, crossover strap.
Comfort-wise, nothing is going to beat a backpack, though. But I probably wouldn't use a backpack, either.

A - 71('11); *87*(04/'13)-Becker & NINJA
F - *76*(08/'13)-Becker & NINJA - "server upgrade" survivor
B - 60('11); *82*(10/'13) -Becker & NINADONE, DONE, AND DONE.

MemberWhen I was in audit, I used a hideous company issued backpack— it was incredibly ugly. But like you, after months of trying to wobble around in heels while carrying a laptop, power cord, internet cord (i worked in audit before wifi), workpaper binders (again, I worked in the days before everything was electronic), AND office supplies, I gave up on trying to look cool.
I did, however, take the backpack off when I walked into the client, and just carried it like a briefcase.
F- 7/13- 84
R- 10/13- 79
A- 11/13- 99
B- 1/14- 86Licensed in PA- 3/20/2014
This exam ALMOST defeated me back in 2006-2008, but I came back and WON!
