InactiveJust started my new job and after looking around at what everyone was wearing, I feel I need to step up my business casual attire! Does anyone recommend any good places to get work clothes that won’t break the bank?

Participant@CPAbirthday I am also pear shaped so dresses are the best…
@CPAdilemma I normally wear a cardigan everyday!!
I don't wear foundation because I found it to be too time consuming…I do wear light blush to add color and mascara. Both are Mary Kay products and don't irritate my skin.

Participant@sbarker- I wish I could get away without foundation! My skin is pretty blotchy (and gross), and I'd feel naked without it.

MemberATTN:
WILL TRADE LIFELESS, COMPLETELY STRAIGHT MEDIUM-LENGTH DARK BROWN HAIR FOR ANYTHING WITH VOLUME/CURLS.
Seriously, the grass is always greener on the other side when it comes to hair! The only way I can get my hair to keep curls is if I roll it in foam curlers while wet, sleep with them overnight, and have them be completely dry in the morning. But then when I take them out, it looks like this

InactiveMy skin is so-so…I do wear foundation because I have hyperpigmentation and unevenness…there was a time I didn't wear any one summer and my skin looked really good (if i do say so myself) I had time to treat my skin with exfoliants and masks 3xs a week and made sure I washed my face morning and at night before bed. I also used a serum by Ole Henrikson (all natural brand) that helped combat my hyperpigmentation. I love Ole Henrikson face products! …AND I drank tons of water throughout the day…
I plan on getting back on this healthy skin care regimen “after I finish my last exam” The thought of not using foundation is a great one!

Participant@nbad311 if you run your hands through them just to loosen the curls it will look adult-like and pretty.

ParticipantI like the Shirley Temple look 😉
I'm jealous of all the women who can just let their hair air-dry and not straighten or blow dry. That is my DREAM. And with the keratin treatment, I can get away with that for a few weeks. It's not even the (ugly) wave my hair does, it's the frizz and fly-aways.
And same goes for the women who can get away without foundation.

MemberI just read every single post on this thread!
My favorite places to find affordable work stuff (and by affordable I mean not Neimans or Nordstrom) are:
– Asos.com – Asos was really big while I lived in the UK, and now they do US shipping and returns for free! You have to sift through it a little to weed out stuff that just isn't professional, but I've found some great blouses on there on sale.
– Topshop.com – Also big in the UK while I was there, they have a handful of brick and mortar stores in the US now, but none in Dallas, so I buy stuff online. I got a few great pairs of leather ballet flats on here for $25 each – SO much comfier than heels, so I alternate heels and flats on working days.
I also really like H&M but I've found that their selection is much better in bigger cities, so I wait until I'm in New York or San Francisco to really do some damage there.
