I want to start by letting you, the reader, know that the statements below are not meant to sound condescending or angry.

It has recently come to my attention that Mini and Baseball are no longer welcome on this forum due to people complaining about what they write. At first, when I heard this, I was mad, but now I am sad. I am sad for the people that complained. If you really can’t handle the unadulterated truth then your parents did you an injustice in raising you. NEWS FLASH: not everything in life is going to be candy coated. Not everything is going to be what you want to hear or be in the ‘tone’ that you find acceptable. I fear for the professional world at this point. If you can’t handle criticism or truth you will never be truly successful. I understand that they come across harsh. I have even said to Baseball that I use to not like him because of the way his posts come across as cocky. However, just like in text messages or emails, things are in the tone you read them. When you keep that in mind, you learn how helpful they really are. Those of you that want to be childish and make fun of people who ‘troll’ that have passed the test, I guess this post is already lost with you. Therefore, feel free to stop reading. People that pass can bring a lot of wisdom. They have done this remember? They have been through this. Just 2 days ago I posted a question on here to get some help. Still, no one has responded. I did get an email from Mini answering my question. I hope no one else comes across the issue I did on that question because unless Mini is their friend, they will only hear crickets. It is people like him that make this website worth going on. At this point, I have the email address of the people I care to talk to. As much as I would love to continue with this site throughout my journey and after I finish my tests, I can see now that those that passed are not welcome. You may try to defend and say it is because of their tone but several people have posted that people that stay on after they pass are ‘trolling’ and should get a life. Without those that have passed giving guidance and support, this forum becomes just a complaining session about how they should make the test easier or that the test is unfair or that they ‘Knew Everything Like the Back of Their Hand but Failed! How Dare the AICPA!!’. A person with true integrity and character will say what the truth is even if it is an unpopular one. There are so few people in the world that are willing to do that and unfortunately, this site just lost two of them.

I fully expect to see people post that I am stirring up trouble or causing drama or that I am an idiot so go right ahead. I am, unlike many others on this site, am willing to listen to people’s opinion no matter how rude I may find it. Also, I am not trying to generalize and say everyone besides these two suck because that is not the case at all. Several have become my friends outside of this forum because I respect what they think and what they stand for.

I am not sure how long this post will stay up before someone reports it or reports me and I get kicked off too. However, I hope at least a few people will really think about what I have said before another quality member gets attacked and puts Jeff in the position he was put in. If you don’t like what I am saying, we can just agree to disagree and move on from there.

I think Jeff, and current test takers, would like this forum to be more “supportive”.

Staying out of a conversation that you feel is absurd only means that you have not yet gone through what they are going through in their life and so you currently can't offer them any supportive advice on how to deal with their situation. All of us here have the same experience of studying and taking the exams, but we all have other “issues” in our real lives that makes each of our experiences VERY different.

If someone is posting about not passing exams over and over again, I think they are reaching out to those exam passers who have had those same experiences.

My mother always told me, “if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all.”

@keeptrying…it could work on the opposite way too. people might want to come in and want to see how “bad” it's. remember, the most controversial reality shows usually get the highest rating. Again, we are arguing what is inside Jeff's head for the reason for his decision. I don't know Jeff much, but one thing I can feel about he is that he doesn't always make decision SOLELY on business. He doesn't strike me he is such a person.

Good topic. Haven't been on here a while, so I guess I missed Mini and Baseball's departure.

Like some have mentioned, criticism, however constructive it may be, should delivered in a tactful manner.

I can understand some people get under others skin with whining or excuses about this or that. But these people should not be blasted for being annoying.

Do what you would do in the real world: have your say or leave it alone.

That being said, some of the whining in the “Becker is garbage ” thread was just ridiculous. Unless the interactions became abusive then a little “stop making excuses” tough love is appropriate IMHO. However, remember that the person can take or leave your advice. You don't have to convince him or herthatthe world works a certain way.

Why not just add a feature to the forums that allows members to block all posts buy other members. That way the people can filter comments themselves and not have to make a big deal about it.

@jamesblunt69…I don't think anyone got banned here. It's a free world. Everyone is welcome to stay or leave. According to earlier posts in this thread, someone is asked by Jeff to be in “tactful manner” while giving advice. He voluntary left. It's a shame someone has delivered many good and sharp advise can't take a simple advise from someone else…guess it's always hard to swallow your own medicine…

i've been on this forum for a while and the comroderie has def changed from the early kumbaya days. i've never heard so much arguing, bickering, and confrontation, reminds me of goingconcern.com for those of you oldies that remember that incident, arianna?? or whatever her name was. last i checked we were all on the same team but it seems like somewhere along the lines the team got segregated. i come to this site cuz i know everyone on here understands what i'm going through. the only people around me passed in the old days or are going to start taking the exams in a couple of years

i luv when alums stick around and wish more of them did. score release time is not only sad b/c of my failing scores, its also sad cuz i know a lot of grads won't return after they're done

I won't bother throwing in my two cents – it won't change anything either way. But I DO want to say this –

Let's call a ceasefire on bickering, sarcasm, arrogance, and whining and just get down to passing this exam, or helping others do so. This site has a lofty purpose – I think we can all agree that we'd rather be a part of that, than just another forum full of angry bickering people. It's up to us to make that happen.

Holy cow!! I have been off the grid for sure. My father in law (Gramps) went into an Alzheimer's facility on March 3rd and that has been my family drama, so I have been out of the loop.

I am not going to add to the comments, but I will say that as an Alum, I am still really interested in seeing my classmates cross that finish line. And if in the process I can give out some advice or help someone, I will feel like I am paying back CPA26 (I think that is it) who took a ton of time to post ways to help me with FAR, and then there was Allyson, who kept me laughing when I wanted to feel sorry for myself. KB24–wow, she was a great source, JoMarie,Peanut….. The point is the list goes on, because there were so many people who helped -directly or indirectly- and I am so grateful.

That being said, I have May 4th on my calendar!!

I think this topic should be dropped since it's just creating drama and preventing all of you from studying (and me from working!). 🙂 If Mini chose to leave another71 forums after his chat with Jeff, then that was his choice and I can respect it. I don't like it, but it was between Mini and Jeff. It's obvious that we aren't going to come to an agreement on this topic.. there's a “pro burtal honesty” group and a “pro carebear” group. I can see both points of view. Let's leave it at that!

So… screw Jeff wasting a podcast on this drama. His time would be better spent giving you all tips and advice on how to pass this exam and move on with your lives (trust me, life is SO MUCH BETTER once you're done with this blasted exam!).

Seriously, people are a bunch of babies and pansies. Getting feelings hurt over things like this. Most people on this site will be super supportive and sugar coat things, and there's a small group of people who are a bit more blunt and opinionated. If you cant even handle that, well then you should just hide in a cave for the rest of your life. What are you doing on a public forum??? You should forget about public accounting!

And what's up with this drama ninja I keep hearing about? Freaking ridiculous.

But, this is run by Jeff, so we should abide by his rules. The right thing would be to leave if we don't want to conform.
