    Hello All!

    Just completed my Audit Exam and whooop- this seems like a fail!

    The MCQs were actually manageable like the normal MCQs, you know some and you don’t know some. Definitely noticed an increase in difficulty on the second test-let but not withstanding, it was doable!

    Now the SIMs! Omg, throughout the exam, I kept regretting why I had not done this exam before this change. FYI, the AL is not a solution with this new exam! It couldn’t help me for ANY of the sims! They were all subjective and I had to guess on all of them!

    I’m too frustrated to even think about the wait? I don’t think I have a chance at this even if I score high on the MCQs. And I have FAR scheduled for July! please advice/encourage/motivate/pray/wish me goodluck. Will be highly appreciated.

    Dude I was literally bombarded with those type of SIMS on my 2nd attempt. I thought those were DRS.. its a SIM with many documents, for example, they would give you journal entry boxes to fill out and a bunch of documents like TB and income statement and so on and forth. I hated those and wish becker or ninja have more SIMS like that to practice. Guess I need to use the AICPA sample this time.

    @jive, what makes u say that? How do you know a 70 would be a pass in previous quarter? Im just hoping to pass by year end so I can still qualify for the bonus at work 🙁

    BEC- PASS (Expiring in DEC 2017)

    REG- PASS (Expiring Feb 2018)

    AUD- PASS (Expiring Oct 2018)

    FAR- 65, 60, 59, 77!!! -GOD BLESS

    If I can do it, anyone can do it!

    Really curious about your FAR experience. Planning to begin studying for that soon! Dreading it so bad after my awful audit experience

    Amen!! 85 will be so great lol. But yeah this was much harder and confusing as compared to REG & BEC.

    Also, what's your strategy for FAR this time?

    I'm just saying that because from Q2 and forward, with the new format changes, all these exams are harder because McQ's are only worth 50% when it use to be 60%. I think I speak for everyone that has failed AUD that usually it's because we're either stronger or comparable in the McQ section and weaker in the TBS. Therefore, it just kinda makes sense that if you get a 70-74 on the new format, it most likely would have translated into a passing score when the test was 90 McQ's with a 60/40 split.

    I want to stay positive and hope that AICPA would be more lenient with the people taking it now, but I highly doubt it. The whole reason why they're changing the format in the first place is because the pass rate was too high. I think they'd be perfectly happy if every section had a 20% pass rate. Am I bitter? You're goddamn right I am.

    Oh there no doubt it will get tougher because you can't ride the MCQ score like before and it's just not AUD. If you were weak at sims on last format there was still a glimmer of hope that you could have pass with a 75-78 because sims were weighted less and that is assuming you killed it on the MCQ. Now they pretty much closed that “loophole” per say, and made it impossible for anyone who are bad at sims to pass.

    AUD - 82
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 81
    REG - 82
    FAR - 74 first attempt

    @Anthony

    Right like even if someone gets all MCQ points , they will still need to get 50% of the sims right to pass.

    Why is the AICPA doing this? Those higher order skills should be attained during the work experience requirement IMO.

    I took Audit on April 03 and had same experience like yours. MCQs got relatively harder and then Sims killed me very bad. I was so fraustrated during the exam that i even took break before the standrazied break. Hopefully APICPA would be kind since were are the first timers to exam new format exam.

    I took audit in May and had a similar experience. Becker prepared me very well for the MCQ but left me to fend for myself for the SIMS hahaha. I also only had 1 sim where AI could have helped, but that sim was one of the easier ones where AI wasn't needed. My hope is that these harder/longer sims are weighted/worth more so we can get less right and still be ok/comparable to those with easy sims!

    Also, like someone above mentioned, you made a “I just failed __” post for both exams you've passed so far, so obviously you still have a good chance of passing even if you didn't feel amazing about it…..

    Becker for all

    AUD - 87 (Q2 2017)
    FAR - 97 (Q3 2017)
    REG - 95 (Q3 2017)
    BEC - 98 (Q3 2017)

    @QueenCPA-
    Let me share my experience with you. Mine was an opposite of yours for Sim. This was my 3rd take. I half assed the first one-my score shows. I scored stronger in 3 sections and 3 comparable(overall stronger) in MCQs but failed a retake with 72 due to sims. This time, I praticed sim everyday for an hour throughout the course of my studies. Questions on sim were doable and easier then my previous two. It did have several sims that AICPA implemented but again I felt like I have seen them before. I even nailed a research question. I couldn't find my research question on previous two exams. I am still not so sure if I passed or not. But whenever I had a good feeling in sims, I always ended up passing. I hope that will hold true on 8/17. Best of luck!! Ps. I strongly urge everyone to do pratice test the AICPA provides. I couldn't believe my eyes on the exam day.
