I decided to push back my exam date back to May 4. Is anyone else having a hard time getting through R3? It feels never ending.
March 13, 2013 at 8:34 pm #414927rolltide88MemberI got the same date for REG as smp73. A lot to go through in a monthm but I am not working so that helps.
Individual taxation does not seem that hard, so here's hoping it stays that way.
FAR- 78 (Nov)
AUD- 90 (Jan)
BEC- 81 (Feb)
REG- 89 (May)March 13, 2013 at 10:43 pm #414928LSNYCMemberSmp73 – don't give up! Trust me you can do this, we can all do this together!
I am not using Becker so not sure what topics are in R3, but they all always seem like they are never-ending to me.
Lite night for me somE reading maybe a set of MCQ.
Happy studying!
A - 61, 91!!
B - 78!
F - 76!!!
R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!Finally done!
This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!
March 14, 2013 at 12:13 am #414929MCLKTParticipantsmp73 I'm anxious to hear your study plan, you can do it!
Welcome Chef, and any other newbies!
I'm laid out my new study plan and am ready to roll. Video and homework tonight. I'm popping the top on a Red Bull because I really want to be alert and get a lot done. I'm excited to pass another test.
REG… you are going down!

On a positive side, 1/2 of R-2 is done. Time to amp this effort up and start doing thorough job but I can't wait for score posting and to be sure that REG is really the next one. Good luck to all others that still waiting!

*NINJA 10 Pt. COMBO & Yaeger*March 14, 2013 at 12:33 am #414933SeattleAccountantMemberMCKLT, sunshine, I'm FROM WA (initially arrived in WA after immigrating to US) but not in WA right now :))))
It's complicated, but I know I eventually get my score thru third party (for international candidates). Little did I know that it would have been a best idea to simply mail all of my fees and apply thru WA. That did not even crossed my mind, unfortunately. Had never imagined that after paying such a hefty fees, I will be waiting for days on after most candidates get their scores in and move on happily ever after. Sorry about the rant, just feeling a bit frustrated.

“Receive Your Result: To pass you require a score of 75, and scores may be released as early as 30 to 90 days after taking your exam. “!!!!!

I can only imagine the frustration of waiting an undetermined amount of time for scores. I'm so lucky (even though it's later than NASBA states) I know exactly when to expect my score. It's never a surprise.
I wish you the best on AUD 🙂
30-90 days…. ew!!!!!
How long did you wait for your FAR score?

*NINJA 10 Pt. COMBO & Yaeger*March 14, 2013 at 3:55 am #414936MCLKTParticipantWell, I don't think I can handle these lectures. . I can't wait until I'm studying for my final exam, BEC with Cindy again. That will be my motivation for REG. It will be the only exam I pass on the first try and it will be in an attempt to avoid listening to these lectures all over again 🙂
Happy studying everyone!

*NINJA 10 Pt. COMBO & Yaeger*March 14, 2013 at 5:24 am #414937SeattleAccountantMember@MCKLT, I got official letter with FAR results a few days ago (!) although I raised the hell and got preliminary score earlier over the phone but again it was after everybody else got theirs. As it stands, it is pathetic, very hard to plan life and studying around this. I guess nothing else to do but to keep studying and concentrating on task at hand.
Yeah, back to R-2 while laundry dries out.
bwt, I've laughed at your comment about certain review instructor and the oral surgery. Yeah, I've commented about certain un-comprehendible instructors somewhere on this forum. There is no way that somebody who is especially non-native speaker can understand that mumbling!
Comparing trials of the most known CPA exam reviews (also, checking out YouTube lectures by the same instructors), i have found that personally:
1. Clear speech is very important (Becker +)
2. Review must be a true review not teaching me stuff from scratch and taking months to complete (Becker +)
3. Review must have sufficient test bank and sims (Becker +/-)
Thus, ended up with using Becker.

Since I work I am going to make the best of my lunch hour.
MC questions at lunch – taking notes on them as I go
Listen to NINJA Audio notes while working
After work…play with my pups/take them for a walk before studying. Study for 2 hours then hit the gym for an hour and listen to notes while I am there. (I have been doing this and I must make weird faces or something when something he says clicks…people look at me funny!)
After the gym shower and get in another hour or so of studying before bed.
Weekends will be primarily studying including rewriting NINJA notes and ENDLESS MC questions.
Since I took it February 26 most of what I studied is still fresh and so far this week I have picked up on a few things I wasnt clear on for the last one.
It is slightly exhausting but I can do it for a month!
p.s. Chocolate glazed doughnut K cups will get me through this exam. 🙂

March 14, 2013 at 2:16 pm #414939redox1100ParticipantFrom my Becker material…
“What items must be separately listed on an S corporation tax return (schedule k)?
1. Ordinary income
2. Rental income/loss
3. Portfolio income
4. Section 1231 gains and losses
5. Charitable contributions
6. Section 179 deduction
7. Depreciation
8. Foreign taxes
9. Tax-exempt interest”
Should ordinary income be included in separately stated income or non-separately stated income? I thought non-separately stated income = ordinary income yet Becker is claiming ordinary income is a separately stated item
