I just started re-studying this week. I found out I failed REG this weekend. This is my first test and I just want to passssss it! I'm about to purchase the 10 point combo. I studied with Becker last time, but I feel like a I need a boost and everyone seems to like the NINJA stuff. Let's pass this test!
{R: PASSED!! (I passed one!)}

{F: PASSED!! (1 left!!!)}
{A: PASSED(I am done!!)}March 12, 2013 at 4:18 am #414912nashville79MemberApologize if this has already been addressed, but does anyone if 2012 Becker will suffice for preparing for REG?
March 12, 2013 at 8:10 pm #414913KGC111210ParticipantShould be from what I've heard. Check out the updates though.

March 12, 2013 at 9:57 pm #414915LisaMemberFor my REG prep, I used Becker 2012 lectures, final review, Wiley Book 2012, Gleim book 2013, Gleim test bank 2013 and a corporate tax book CCH 2013 to read some of the more complex topics for prtnerships, S corps,C corps and Estate and Trusts.

VA License Issued 3/2013March 13, 2013 at 12:44 am #414916gobiasMember@soxfan866 I personally enjoyed his Peter Olinto impersonation. I think it was in R3. “Okay FOLKS! Here we go FOLKS! Let's do this FOLKS!”
On a side-note: I'm having trouble reaching the same level of focus that I had for FAR, any tips on how to fix this?

OK WHY ARE YOU MOWING THE LAWN! THERE IS NO GRASS YET I SWEAR IT IS STILL ALL DIRT!!! (sorry i needed to vent) WTH!
gobais – I had the same problem with FAR, i just couldn't motivate myself after i got my passing AUD grade. I took a few days off relaxed and reminded myself why i wanted this, scheduled my exam and knew if i didn't push myself and pass i would regret it. I started check in to the FAR study group every day and setting small goals, 20 MCQ, 1 hours of videos ect. after each goal i just started to look on to the next one.
Sorry i don't have better advice, you just need to push through this hurdle
A - 61, 91!!
B - 78!
F - 76!!!
R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!Finally done!
This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!
March 13, 2013 at 1:46 am #414918MCLKTParticipantLSNYC – that is great advice! I'm checking in, but not studying tonight. I'm getting one more good night of relaxation and liquor, before the strict study regimen kicks in. I have some very tight deadlines and today close Feb! So, tonight, I will relax and get ready for some serious studying until the end of month when I get to do it all again. I just keep telling myself I will close Feb. March and April… then pass another test!

*NINJA 10 Pt. COMBO & Yaeger*March 13, 2013 at 2:15 am #414919AnonymousInactiveHi Everyone,
This is my first post. I've been reading the A71 forums for a while and it's been a great source of inspiration and motivation to get me started on this rather intimidating journey. Best of luck to everyone and I look forward to working with you!
Also, @ Soxfan, that “blazing” stuff seriously cracked me up.
March 13, 2013 at 2:25 am #414920soxfan866Membergobias – Ha, that's actually R2 as well. The crazy old man is on fire in that lecture! As for your question, there is no simple fix. I've been taking them progressively less seriously (studying-wise) as I've gone on, and honestly, haven't really seen it reflected in the scores I've been getting. You're definitely learning and remembering much more than you feel that you are. Even getting through one section (with a pretty good score) is a huge help because I swear you tend to pick up on the way the exam is written and how that can influence the answer choices (or I could just be crazy). If you're really slacking you should be able to tell, and if you're not I really wouldn't worry too much as I've felt the same way and my scores haven't suffered. Also, using common sense is very helpful whether it be on practice questions or on the actual exam. I can't tell you how many questions I've been able to answer correctly on the exam just by using good ol' context clues.
ChefBlake – Welcome! Mark my words, you will learn to hate Tim Gearty. He will slowly and painfully crush your soul and kill your highlighters.
Man, I need to get through REG and end this misery…
March 13, 2013 at 2:34 am #414921lvr21MemberAnyone using both Becker and the 10 point combo?

@ChefBlake – Welcome! These boards are amazing for accountability and encouragement for these brutal tests, glad to have you along.
Good luck to everyone studying for REG! One nugget of wisdom I would offer to each of you; take time to understand the “character” of $ as it flows through entities to/from the owners!!
March 13, 2013 at 2:50 am #414923LSNYCMemberWelcome Chef!
I have the best picture for my avatar and it isn't working, so for now you get a picture of my dog! I am annoyed, obviously studying has ended for the night for me….

March 13, 2013 at 3:47 am #414924jenlynn1213MemberMade it through all of the R3 videos this evening! I will start knocking out the R3 homework tomorrow. REG exam is already 1 month from tomorrow and I really want to pass this time around. Luckily I feel like I remember a lot of this stuff from the last time, just need to figure out where I went so wrong.
@Chef Blake, welcome!
