I could not focus on Friday, too nervous for score release. I could not study yesterday, too busy celebrating. Will be back later, can't study this afternoon… still hungover :/
Tonight I'm going to set out my realistic study schedule from today until exam day, May 14.

*NINJA 10 Pt. COMBO & Yaeger*March 10, 2013 at 7:52 pm #414897AnonymousInactiveMCLKT, I had a couple of the most wonderful Lemoncelli (spelling?) drinks and lobster crepes to celebrate passing audit. The hangover was totally worth having that celebration time with hubby. I really miss that guy! I think you deserve the day of rest. Enjoy! 🙂
On another note…Wow, lots of material in Becker chapter 1. I'm listening to a section and going back and taking notes in a notebook. It's taking forever. Goodness!
I did notice that it appeared that tax was only in the first four chapters and then the rest was law. Is that true? If so, then I may be better off than I thought. I have zero tax experience. Eek!
This may be a little slow going, but I'm definitely on a mission and not giving up on this! HiYa!

March 11, 2013 at 2:10 am #414901lvr21MemberI know the score release says the first 20 days will be released in wave 1.
So will Saturday, April 20th be included In wave 1?
{R: PASSED!! (I passed one!)}

{A: PASSED(I am done!!)}March 11, 2013 at 2:19 am #414902MCLKTParticipantHi Ivr21 – The days of the wave that they refer to is not the day you sit for the exam, but the day the AICPA receives your exam from the prometric. Sometimes (depending on your prometric and the time of day you sit) your exam will be received the same day. Since AICPA isn't open on Sat. I think they wouldn't consider your score received until they come in Monday.
If I were trying to get in the first wave, I would take it on the 18th. You could try the 19th, but I wouldn't feel confident it would be in wave 1.

*NINJA 10 Pt. COMBO & Yaeger*March 11, 2013 at 4:35 am #414903JacquelynMemberHi guys- what are your thoughts on Becker for reg? Best? Covered what you saw on exam adequately? 1100 dollar worthy?
I passed REG before, but have lost credit and am now re matching it next. I used Gleim then, but was also fresh out of grad school tax class. This time around, I am doing REG on my own while working full time. Thanks!!!
B 71, 74, 84*
A 74, 72, 69, 74, 87*
R 80* ... lost credit... 82* done forever!!!
F 68, 68, 74, 78*Yep, I've gotten five 74's! Wah!
March 11, 2013 at 12:01 pm #414904LSNYCMemberHow are in laws not related parties? If I sell something to my in-laws and file a joint return aren't they a
related party to my husband so also a related party to me?
Thanks and happy Monday!
A - 61, 91!!
B - 78!
F - 76!!!
R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!Finally done!
This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!
March 11, 2013 at 1:01 pm #414905lvr21MemberThanks MCLKT!

{A: PASSED(I am done!!)}March 11, 2013 at 1:37 pm #414906MCLKTParticipantJacquelyn – I'm no help, sorry. I use Yaeger and like it. However, I think if I had to purchase again I would try Roger for REG.
LSYNC – errr, not to related parties yet, but your reasoning seems correct. If in-laws are not related, are parents? How could it be one way and not the other?

*NINJA 10 Pt. COMBO & Yaeger*March 11, 2013 at 2:37 pm #414907smp73MemberI am still debating if I want to take REG again after a 74. If I do decide to take it again is roughly 5 weeks enough time to study so I can get it in in the first wave of Q2?

March 11, 2013 at 3:18 pm #414908JMemberQuestion regarding Section 179:
Section 179 was supposed to be rolled back to a maximum $139,000 deduction for purchases up to $560,000 in tax year 2012. This is the information that the Wiley book provides. However, Section 179 rules were recently updated to remain in line with 2010 and 2011 ($500,000 maximum deduction for purchases up to $2,000,000.
Which figures should be used for the exam? I know that generally phase-outs and AGI limitations are not important, but this is certainly important enough to have the correct data.
Any insight????
March 11, 2013 at 11:06 pm #414909SeattleAccountantMemberPost to keep myself accountable 🙂 hehe.
This week R-2.
Anyone else studying w/Becker and around the same timeline, join in. Let's plough thru this material!
Becker Class of Jan - Aug 2013: FARB DONE!!!!
CPA license pending 🙂March 12, 2013 at 12:30 am #414910MCLKTParticipantAccountability check in.
I have my schedule all lined out, and I actually think I should move my test up a week or more based on the time I think it will take to get through all of the material, rewrite notes and review for two weeks. But, I'll leave it as is because I don't want to test right in the middle of month end close.
If all else fails I can work more MCQs and re-rewrite notes 🙂
I got waaaay off track last week. So I'm basically starting from square one today. Indiv. tax will pretty much be my focus until this weekend. So far so good though! I have listened to Indiv. tax NINJA audio once through and Yaeger audio 1/2 way through.
