Member@MCLKT… hah, I didn't think that I came across that way… I have another daughter (younger) as well; she just didn't want to be part of the fun for the picture!

MemberI wonder, are Becker's hw questions much easier than the test questions, which would not be good… I only ask as I was getting destroyed by Becker BEC hw while the test was much easier. Reg Becker HW is a lot easier in comparison. I just don't want to be surprised come test day.

InactiveFinishing reviewing chapter 2, but worried by not re-doing the initial questions that I may have forgotten some of it. I'm only re-doing those I marked. This worked for audit, financial, and BEC, but I'm panicking over it now. I haven't had any time to even look at Wiley, either.
This test feels really HUGE to me at this moment. 11 days, eek!

MemberIn Becker 2013, the text on page R5-34 states that under common law defrauded party can rescind OR sue for damages. Under UCC the defrauded party can rescind AND sue for damages. However in its HW Q23/48 the correct answer explanation states that the under both common law and UCC the parties can resind AND sue for damages. For Wiley 2013 on page 155 it states that both damages and rescission is available. Which is correct? Thanks in advance.

MemberNot sure without seeing the full questions but I think they are all saying the same thing.
They can sue or they can seek rescission. I think they are stating that they have multiple options for fraud when they use the word and – not that they can do both.
I think that when you rescind a contract that is your solution. You seek to be out of the contract as if it had never existed. If you are out of the contract – how can you sue over it?

MemberHopefully this is a simple question:
Is there anyway in Becker (2012) to do progress tests for just R5-R8? Of course I can just do a R1-R8 PT and only answer the 5-8's, but I was just wondering if there was an easier way.
Thanks!

ParticipantFinally took a full length practice exam today and I was hoping to score a 70 at least… but I got a 74 oh yeah! 🙂
Next week the goal is 80. I don't take the scores seriously, but I always feel better when I can work through an entire exam, not knowing the immediate answers, forcing me to focus and manage my time. It helps my nerves on exam day, I just tell myself I've done it before and can do it again.
Wendy – how did basis and amt go?
Does anyone have any quick tips or ways to memorize the basis treatment for Corps, shareholders, partnerships, partners, etc?
I'm going to try to put together some sort of chart or image to help me. I'm a visual learner.
I need to master that, and review Contract Law. Today, hopefully!
This week I'm going to focus on some tax returns 1065, 1040, and schedules M1-3.
I think I'll look for some SIMS that Seattle mentioned too. We can never be too careful 🙂
InterFC1 – you didn't come across feminine or anything. I just pictured your username as a girl name. I have no idea why. But none of your posts that I recall were gender defining, lol 🙂

MemberKip, go to progress tests under Final Review and un-check the boxes for chap 1-4 at the beginning when you can key in how many questions you want to do.

Membergetting there
feels like reg and me are not jiving. I am worried.
i am in the 70s mostly on practice tests and up to 74 once. 399 multiple choice in 2 days. Not as many sims. but I had seen some of the questions before so….
I'm not stumbling on the basis anymore. i am getting into amt tonight. – got distracted by a few other things…
I did find a really detailed yeager video on youtube about partnership basis and capturing the value from an installment receivable.
i keep printing out forms from the irs site. i got tripped up on filling out a 4797 in a sim. I didn't know that certain parts went to certain sections – not really clear on the form in the sim – and just trying to follow that form's instructions made me really upset with myself. I printed out the instructions for it and went through it.
I just printed out 6251 and am going to work through that now.
I feel like this one will be close. ugh.

InactiveI feel like this one is going to be a close one, too. I'm about 2 days behind. I had hoped to do the first practice exam today, but I'm just now finishing up reviewing chapter three. I need to get through four tomorrow, which will be my last to review. Then, I'll do a practice exam on Tuesday.
I keep going over my notes but listening to you going through actual tax forms concerns me. I may be hopelessly left in the dust on those.
Darn fear.

InactiveMy brain shuts off when I try to study anymore, haha. I think I've learned what I can, so pretty much took this weekend off. I'll probably do some light reviewing tomorrow over weaker areas.
My studying this time has pretty much just been only non-stop MCq until I'm a pro at them. We'll see if it pays off.

InactiveI'm scheduled to take Reg on 5/31. Definitely have been slacking on my studying the last few weeks. This weekend I finally got through the homework on R1 and R2. Plan is to get through R3 and R4 by the end of Friday then R5-R8 over the weekend which leaves me 2 weeksish for review, though I won't be able to study much at all over Memorial Day weekend. Individual tax didn't seem too tough, hopefully Corp tax isn't much more difficult but I'm sure I'm just wishing for that.
