InactiveThank You Jeff, Regulator the video with Warren G and Nate Dog took back in time put a smile on my face, I was rapping along. Two decades later I still remember the words. I wish you had posted this video before Sat morning, the exam was bad really bad I am convinced I lost time because of the pretest material. Do you think they take that into consideration for the final grade? because I knew some of the stuff but because of those stupid questions that threw me off. Did not have time to finish.
Worst part was finding the research I was looking for as I was key in the letter for the law the screen went blank. I am still annoyed no wait, more like mad. I dont think I will get over it.
I want to tell AICPA to put all the pretest stuff in the last testlet I am so mad.
Thanks again for the video. Good cheer up.
Cheers!!!

InactiveEli actually brings up an issue I am having. I don't seem to be able to find the answers to the research questions in REG. I had no trouble in any of the other sections, but suddenly in REG, I can't find them. If I do find something similar, it's often the wrong section, too.
It really concerns me. Does anyone have suggestions?

MemberFor the research questions I would say just keep practicing. The Wiley test bank has a lot and it gives you really good practice. Also try and isolate key words of the prompt and work from there.
My approach to practice them:
1. read the prompt
2. isolate the key words (I tried to keep this down to one or two words for searching purposes)
3. search for the key words in the code
4. find what I thought was the answer
5. poke around the other sections around what I thought was the answer to determine if it was the best answer.
If that did not work I would find the big section, say Partnership Tax, and then drill down from there or only search with in that area.
I know it is not fool proof but using that approach and a lot of practice research questions I felt confident going into my exam.
Obviously isolating the key words are the key to finding the right answer. If you are still having problems and have some practice research questions I could at least give you the key words I would search for.

InactiveOk, I'm confused. I see posts when I'm logged out that I cannot see when I'm logged in. Yeo…can't remember the name…posted he/she passed. Am I going crazy?
Anyway, congratulations!!! I'm so excited for you! You put a huge smile on my face this morning! 😀
I did own a site for 6 years and get the moderation thing, but sometimes this forum makes me think I'm going crazy “er”. Ok, I'll take my crazy butt back to work. See you guys later.
SMP73, thank you for the advice. I'll try searching for just a key word or two in the question and see how that goes. Sometimes when I can't find one, I'll try to come up with my own searches and that doesn't always work.

MemberAnna – I'm finding it more helpful to use the section titles first before keyword searching. I also think they sometimes don't exactly use the keywords you should search for – like I had a sample problem about a wash sale. They didn't use the term wash sale. You had to understand what was going on in the transaction before you started searching.

Member@MCLKT… Thanks so much! I really underestimated myself on this one; I was sure that my performance was borderline… I see you have REG coming up on the 29th (same day I'm scheduled for AUD)… I'm sure that you'll do great as well!

MemberJust started my REG review and I must say I have my work cut-out for me. No tax experience as I live in a ‘tax haven' and is clueless about everything.

Inactive@Charzy – Same here! I've been “watching” (but not really absorbing) my online lectures for the last 3 weeks and now I've got to really start studying. 3.5 weeks to go for me. I would like to get through REG on the first attempt. Has anyone else found that it's hard to get motivated for your last section?

Participant3 hours till exam time……. I know I said I was going to check in on here through out this test, but then I got so bogged down with tax season then threw so much time into studying I neglected to do that. Well, hopefully it pays off, and hopefully the research sim gods are on my side today and actually find what I am looking for!

Inactive@KSettles, great explanation for the 1231 rules, thanks!
Everyone else, I took the exam on Saturday. I never really felt surprised by any of the questions. There was definitely a few where I had to guess, but I felt like the material that was tested accurately reflected everything I had studied in Becker, Wiley, and Ninja. That doesn't mean I knew all the answers… It's just a ton of information to fit into my brain for one exam. I feel positive, but I could go either way. I wouldn't be surprised if I got an 82 or a 62. What I found most difficult was the sims! I had the same problem with the Wiley sims as on the exam: I can't figure out what the question is asking me. I'll let everyone know how I did when I find out. That should be before May 23, right?
