Hah, gotta love the jimmies comment. Non-New Englanders always think of several, very different things.

Well, just got through R8 and it's safe to say that I've forgotten everything about taxes. On the bright side, I'm pretty much a SOX expert considering the legislation is apparently fair game on every single section of the exam. The 4 day review begins Thursday and hopefully I'm done with this dang exam next Monday.

I am trying to study, but I have my fantasy baseball draft right now and it is VERY hard to multi task the two…. It is going quick so that's good hopefully it will be over in about a half hour and I can get 2 hours of studying in!

I had the 2nd pick I took Miguel Cabrera he better not get caught doing an steroids this year, or worse domestic violence!

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

@ Seattle I completely agree. I always feel so refreshed and like I can tackle all this studying after spending some time outside or at the gym (when its too frigid/snowy/rainy/icy etc outside). Just got back from the gym ready to tackle another hour of studying. So far today has gone exceptionally well (studying wise – a much needed confidence boost). Tomorrows weather is supposed to be decent so a field trip with the dogs to the lake for a walk is in order! Knock on wood…I feel like I can do this!

@smp73 My exam is Monday, but my birthday is Saturday. I feel your pain. I will go out for dinner that night (I need to eat anyway), but I am holding my celebrations until after my exam on Monday.

    and happy belated birthday!

Hi all, I'm joining this forum as I'm scheduled to take REG on 5/13. I passed FAR and AUD on my first attempts but it has been so much harder to study this time around. Between the extra hours I'm putting in for tax season and the lack of motivation to take a third exam, I'm really struggling to stay on track. I'm using CPAExcel and Wiley Test Bank for prep as I did with the other two sections.

Best of luck to you all!

Welcome @flyingeagle! Good luck studying…you can do it!

I have been getting an 82 on every set of MC questions I have done in the last two days. No matter the topic…an 82. Pretty pleased with that! 3 weeks till exam day (yikes…but I feel like I am gaining confidence!)

    How is everybody?

My progress is in PROGRESS but slower than I had anticipated. Too many distractions this week.

Kind of off topic but it has absolutely given me the extra boost I need to knock this exam out. Just got my yearly performance review after my first full year at this job…super good! I am so excited…and they are really supportive of me having to take the exam again. 🙂

Progress has been good this week really hoping the trend continues into the weekend!

smp73 Woo hoo! You go!!! 😀

I have a three day weekend and am starting the Becker chapter 3. I finished up the notes for 2 last night. Good grief, there are a lot of tax credits. I hope I can remember all that!

I know chapter three is long, am hoping I can barrel through it during the three day weekend.

I'm excited, as well. I scheduled the test for 1 day outside of the test window like a dork. I saw what I did and thought, “Now why did I do that? Now I'll have to wait like three weeks for my results. I'll be an insane person…I have to change that!” So, am thinking of pushing the test out til the very end of May. While I'd love to just take it and get it over with, I don't think waiting that long for results is good and I really would like to have more time to study. Moving it back will hopefully keep me semi-sane'ish.

    hello all!

first time checking in here. it is nice to read all the encouraging words and useful posts by those who have passed.

just wanted to get your guys' input on my REG status

i thought i could prepare and sit for REG in 4 weeks (8-10 hrs a day, ~8 on weekends), so i scheduled it on april 8th.

I only got through all 8 chapters officially (finished all sims, lectures, went thru mcq's ONCE) this past tuesday. You may think that I blazed through it, and i think i might've too, but i was definitely concentrating during lectures, and would review section within chapter then do mcqs. ended up a little behind schedule, as i only have about 1.5 weeks to review.

depending on which hw section it is i'm averaging around 84% correct on mcq's (beckers, section = 63 mcq set for “contracts”. but don't feel like i know everything inside out, or am 100% confident i know all the different details, (does this get taxed, whats included on k-1 or in corps gross income or is that a LTCG in estate).

As of today i'm thinking about pushing the exam from Mon – Fri, just to give me a few more days. I understand it may not make a diff, and maybe i should push it back a whole week. Haven't taken either of beckers final exams. Anyway, any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated!

    thanks all
