AnonymousInactiveI started with B-Law also, b/c that is how it set in my review program. I hoped that B-Law would cover more material I had in college some years ago, but unfortunately, there was more new topics. I also still remember taxation topics from college, but not all the details. Hopefully I'll be done by the end of this week with all material and have couple of weeks to review AUD. Then I'll come back for more REG review. That's the plan for now!

AnonymousInactiveI haven't caught-up on all the posts yet, but I wanted to respond to this comment by Lisa:
“By the way there is light at the end of the tunnel. My VA CPA license was issued today. Happy day for me and your's is coming soon. Keep your eye on the prize.”
Thank you for saying that! I am just so tired right now. I studied this weekend, but not nearly enough. I get off work and just want to eat and rest. After getting through three of these tests, studying is just such a huge burden.
I truly could not be more excited for you! I'm so hopeful that in the next couple months that I will be there, too. Thank you so much for staying here with us, encouraging us, giving us tips, and the hope we need to keep going. You are very inspiring and your post brought tears to my eyes this morning. Congratulations and THANK YOU! 🙂

LisaMember@AnnaNuther:
Thank you very much for your very kind post! You are very close to getting through this journey. It took me the entire 18 months, and therefore if I did not pass REG in February, then I would have lost my AUD credit. Therefore my focus was always on learning as much REG as possible. Frankly, I always (for all the exams) told myself that its ok to fail the exam, but its NOT ok to not fully prepare and learn as much as possible (that last comment sounded a bit like a CPA exam question with the double negative, oh well, you can see what I what I'm saying). But by telling myself that its ok to fail, but not ok to do less than give it my all, that helped lower (or at least control) the amount of pressure I felt as my exam day approached. Further, my live review class professor told us to embrace the challenge and to ‘love' the material and that will make it much easier to study, learn, and pass. For me, it was hard to ‘love' the material in a section when I first started the review and began to see how much information that I really did not know very well or at all. For example, until I studied for FAR, the cash flow statement had only been completed on a direct basis and while it was mentioned that there was an indirect basis too, that was as far as it went…. But once I was able to start to grasp the material, I could then ‘convince' myself that it was fun and to strive to study better, longer and more completely.
You are s-o-o-o-o close and so every MC, or SIM you work may get you one more point, and that may be the difference to making the 75 threshold. To me these exams are about ‘earning' the right to pass through preparation. While that is a simplistic ideal, that's what I told myself to stay motivated. And frankly this site is great, because everyone understands what this endeavor feels like. This site is so great for emotional support as well as a few great tips…I posted very little while I was testing, and instead spent my down time from studying, reading posts, so I want to provide whatever support I can to others as a way to pay back those that provided support to me.
So stay focused so you will be prepared for whatever you see on your REG exam, and you can put the CPA testing in the rear view mirror!
Best to you and everyone studying here!

MonirMemberI just finished the REG but scheduled the exam on 4/22 ! I will have one week to go over anything I missed & three weeks for review That is my plan . is ti too long? Should I schedule it one week earlier ? I also have wiley test bank & the MCQ & SIMS are lot more harder than my review course. any adivse those of you passed or preparing

AnonymousInactiveMonir, I don't think that's too long, but I work full time. So, I'd love to have that extra time to re-do all the questions I marked, review my notes, etc.
On another note, I just finished chapter 2! **Runs around screaming “I finished chapter 2!!!”**
Ok, I'm over-excited, I know. So, what's up with these SIMS? They keep blowing up on me and ending…like deleting my work and closing down. To say it's annoying would be putting it mildly! As my kids would say “It's really rustling my jimmies!” (I'm not sure what jimmies are, but I think maybe I don't have any. If I did, though, they would be really rustled!)

SeattleAccountantMemberChecking-in. This week suppose to start R-4 (today) but still 1/2 at R-3.
How's everyone else is doing?
OT: weather is so very nice, so tempting to do the yard work and that's exactly what I did last night instead of hitting the book 🙁
Good luck to everyone studying, keep doing it, is shall end someday!

smp73Member@Seattle: The weather here is FINALLY above 40. I am so ridiculously excited I wore flip flops yesterday. I took my dogs for a “field trip” to a state park after work today instead of studying right when I got home. I am hoping the break and the fresh air will equal productivy later.
I am a smidge behind too but plan to catch up this week!

LSNYCMember@Anna in New England Jimmies are sprinkles…. I'm pretty sure that's not what they mean but I felt like sharing 🙂
@Seattle I'm not sure if I should be jealous or not about your weather. It's still pretty miserable here but at least I don't want to be outside enjoying the weather.
Hoping for 2-3 hours tonight. I hate SIMs every time I do a practice one it kills my confidence!
@Monir I think your exam time is good however if you feel ready sometimes it's better to get it over

Guys, you need to pass exam, get certified and move to warmer places seriously. This is why we study and persevere now so the future is better, brighter, and warmer, at least in theory!

smp73MemberIts so warm here (and by warm I mean 43) I had to give in and do a little yardwork! I did have some fantastic “ah ha” moments when I was studying at lunch so I figured the yardwork was my reward! 🙂
Its supposed to snow later in the week so you know at least the sunshine and blue skies won't be calling my name then! Back to MC. Hope everyones studying going well.

SeattleAccountantMember@smp73, Funny how the yard work has become for you and me sort of a reward. It is priceless to forget for an hour or two, all the studying madness and work outside and actually see progress in terms of clean yard, packed winter debris and think about future BBQs…
Any time I run, walk or work outdoors, I feel recharged and ready to battle REG again. After all, R-3 does not seem to be so over the top once my head got cleared up by being outside!

gobiasMemberChecking in.
I pushed my exam back to next Friday. It's only a few days, but I didn't feel comfortable with my 4/1 date. I should finish reviewing R1-6 by tomorrow (got sick of blaw during R7 so I skipped to review).
