I'm glad im not the only one who thought that the simulation was hard! Hopefully we can ride the curve to a 75

    this is from cpa-exam.org website:

The CPA Examination is NOT curved. Every candidate’s score is entirely

independent of other candidates’ examination results.

The CPA Examination is a criterion-referenced examination which means that it rests upon pre-determined standards. Every candidate’s performance is measured against established standards to determine whether the candidate has demonstrated the level of knowledge and skills that is represented by the passing score. Every candidate is judged against the same standards, and every score is an independent result.

    Soon CPA,

I read that, but I'm sure there has to be some sort of curve, whether its systematic or not, if every candidate found those simulations difficult I'm pretty sure they're going to take that into consideration.

I guess so. they just do not like and do not call it a “curve”. But who cares. We need our sweet baby 75+.!!

I passed the AUD exam today.

O also! I was in a traffic court today and won my case in front of a judge. The judge said “you are very sincere and I believe you and I am going to dismiss your ticket!” I really was not at fault. I am glad that the judge understood me.

So, I am going to put this success story in my resume!))

If this is the case, what is your justification for the passing rate for each quarter that is fall in a narrow range (45% – 55%) ?

I think, the candidate score is compared to the passing candidates average score, if you are above the average you are done, otherwise have a bad day =( even if your actual score is 80 for example, you may faill just because the candidates average score is 85 for example,

    what do you think ?

I think nobody knows what they do over there!!!))) We can just guess.

In my opinion if you are a good candidate they will give you a green light regardless of 45-50% limit. they can always make justified exceptions. I personally trust their judgement. I am sure we all know they are professionals and they exactly know what they do.

forget about REG. study your FAR.

this is my good advice to you. REG is done. It is gone gone gone. Do not jeopardize the FAR exam.!

In my opinion, they don't “curve” the exam….

….however, I believe I remember reading that if a huge majority of people had an issue with a question, that question could be thrown out.

So, if you are graded with a bunch of people who bombed, they'd probably get the same question wrong that you did, and it may be thrown out. They may have some other questions wrong that you (and some others) got correct, and they wouldn't be thrown out. Thus, the people failing the exam helped you to pass when, on a straight score, you would have failed.

Is my line of thinking correct?

i personally think they do grade on a curve and it varys w each test….a little unfair but so is life!

It's been over 2 months since I took REG. I am convinced they are going to make a Wave 3 just for my score!
