    Bob, just enjoy it man!!! I still don't have free time. I don't have enough credits in the state I plan to certify in so I am taking online classes. I am so tired of studying I don't know what to do!!

    Glad to see this thread is alive and well again. 🙂

    Especially happy to see so many friends who were right there with me during Q1 of this year. Well done y'all!

    everything I do now is guilt free. I'm finishing up my masters classes and man it's hard to focus on things Becker taught me months ago.

    CPAHawk took the words out of my mouth. For two years my answer to EVERYTHING has been, “I WOULD, but I have to study.” Missed vacations, missed birthdays, missed football games…Ah, sweet relief.

    Yup, I feel the same way. What to do?!?!? I finished my Masters in Dec. 2010. I already have the hours, work experience, and ethics course as required by the TSBPA to get my license. I have had some thoughts on pursuing the CMA exam as well. My Becker Live instructor told us to get this credential right after the CPA exam because it's just like the BEC exam but more in depth. Anyone here plan on taking, or already have a CMA license? Maybe I'm crazy for even thinking of doing more studying and trying for more letters after my name, but since I have been in “study-mode” for the past year or so, and the material is still fresh, I figured there would be no better time then now.

    yeesh…dreamt last night that I had to retake BEC…was far too real for my liking

    wonder how long these things go on? same thing happened for awhile after my advanced tax course, but my dream was that I didn't graduate

    @WhyEvenTry, a couple ladies in my group at work are getting their CMAs right now…I'm not in public accounting, rather the Oil and Gas industry….I'm thinking about it…I want to get the CFE as well (even though it wouldn't benefit my current job) but I'm gonna take a break from asking my bosses for money, haha

    I've heard the CFE is childs play, in fact, a couple peers got theirs while we were still working on our masters….so hopefully that won't be too strenuous

    @CPAhawk

    I see. Well, hopefully any exam we take after this CPA exam will be a walk-in-the-park. I just didn't want to wait too long before getting them done. I hear you on the money thing, same thing here. They only covered the 1st attempt for each exam. So since it took me 8 to pass, I guess I ended up paying for them all myself anyway. Oh well….hopefully the ROI will be much greater 🙂

    I have also looked into the CFE. I do work some in the audit dept of my firm, so that would help. I don't think the CMA, CFE, CISA, etc. would help me too much in my current postion, but would be beneficial for my future. I'm 26, and would love to get another before I am 27.

    Or….maybe I should just enjoy the CPA for a bit. Heck, a few months ago I didn't even think it was possible ; )

    Haha, I turn 25 tomorrow, so I know how you feel…forensic accounting is my dream job so that's why I'm kinda leaning towards the CFE…though I've done no research and don't know the requirements, but I have the same credentials as my peers that got it, so I should be good

    Good luck in the future…great to get it out of the way at such a young age

    Yup….I agree. As Charlie Sheen would say, “the younger the better.” Good luck to you as well. This b-day will be better than the last one I'm sure. You can actually enjoy yourself and not study! Sweeeeeet.
