I submitted my license packet at 9:00 this morning and the following was waiting in my e-mail when I returned from lunch.

Your Initial CPA License – Washington application has been approved. Your Washington license number is 32433.

You should expect to receive, in the mail, your initial license packet. Your license status will be posted on our website’s Licensee Search within the next 24 hours.

So 1 year in to take and retake the CPA exam

1 day to take the WA ethics and AICPA ethics course

    4 hours to get licensed

    Feeling a little anticlimactic

@bhunt815 – Congrats to you too! I can hardly believe it myself! I haven't gotten my NASBA notice from Friday's pass either, but I didn't need it when I sent in my docs to WA state.

@circadian malfunction – AICPA ethics course was $120 or something since I'm an AICPA student member. WA Ethics course is free directly available from the state. Here's a link with what you need to do as an out-of-state candidate https://www.cpaboard.wa.gov/individual-licensing/get-your-first-cpa-license/get-your-first-washington-state-license-out-state-ca

The initial license was $330. Drop in the bucket compared with what I paid between review courses and exam fees! Good luck.

Thank you for the information. Yes, I was looking at that website today. Looks like my education and experience will be enough.

So the licensure fee is $50 less than NY State. That's great. Probably will cost $25 to transfer the exam scores and another $30 to send my transcripts again (to the same NASBA address as last time?). But yeah, drops in the bucket compared to the exam fees and review courses.
