I recently got my CPA License from Illinois, but all they provide is a pretty ugly certificate you can print out, that has colours bleeding, a barcode, and an expiry date. I was hoping to get a real certificate saying that I’m a CPA, that I could frame and mount. Do you know if there is any other option? I’ve tried with ILBOA and IDFPR and both say there is nothing they can provide other than that ugly paper I can print myself.

Hey Aaronmo, you're in PA. I just got my license, do PA CPA's get a “diploma” wall certificate as well or do we have to buy it (create it on our own) like some of the other states?

I made a color photocopy of my certificate. When one of the partners walked past my office, I used thumbtacks to jab the certificate up on the wall. Turns out both the partner and executive partner were walking past, and I heard a noticeable gasp from both. They gave me a look of sheer horror when I said, “It's just a paper,” I sat down, and started jabbing away my computer. I've since had a manager stop by to ask if I really meant to punch holes in my certificate. I later let them all know it's a photocopy, so now firm is getting the real one framed for me, probably because they don't trust me with it anymore.

@JLloyd829…PA sends you a wall certificate. I'm not sure why they don't send them together but I received mine the next day after receiving my actual license.

Delaware no longer has wall certificates. 🙁 So my choices are to frame my 1/3rd page license (which looks just like the ones at restaurants, etc. and has to be changed out every 2 years) or nothing. My manager has a nice certificate from PA. Had I known DE doesn't have one, I might have sat as a PA candidate instead.

Reciprocity. Just transfer your scores and education to a state with a more attractive wall certificate.
It will cost you another application fee, but whats a few hundred dollars…

I just have to say that Tennessee has a really lovely wall certificate. First I received my license and I was like, “that's it?” and two months later this beautiful certificate showed up. If I can figure out how to post photos I would share what each of them looks like.
