    CharlesD – I am not yet a cpa, nor have I found out if I passed FAR, but this is the most important advice I can give:

    STOP FREAKING OUT! Seriously, calm down. I know it is much easier said than done, but you got to trust yourself. You have done some solid studying. It is a sh*tload of information man…I don't think it is the fact that you are not prepared, it is more of a fact that it is just so much info. And remember, it is like that for EVERYBODY.

    You have to have confidence in yourself, and be calm and collective on exam day. Don't freak out…very important, as it may cause you to panic and lose your train of thought and forget things. Time management is very important on this exam. Remember, missing a mc problem is not going to cause you to fail. You are better off making an educated guess and saving time, rather than spending 5 minutes on 1 question. Make a time management strategy beforehand and stick to it. Very important to stick to it. That is fine if you are ahead of schedule, but don't get behind schedule. For myself I decided to give myself 50 min each mc testlet and 45 min each sim. I finished the first mc testlet in far less than 50 minutes, which enabled me to spend more time on the 2nd and 3rd testlets.

    I have read a ton of past posts on FAR, and a common theme among many people is that they don't finish the 2nd sim, or they are very confused on the sims, and they still passed. So keep that in mind. WC is very important on this test as it will really help you out. If you are completely lost on a sim, make sure you write a helluva WC. Good luck!

    How many hours can you dedicate a day? I personally would want more time than 5 weeks.

    trying hard unless you are a super genius which you maybe, I would recommend that you devote 6-8 weeks of study. But thats my opinion am a slow learner so I need a lot of time to study before anything sticks. Your case maybe different.

    @potatogun

    I have a full time job with 3 kids….so maybe max of 4-5 hours per day…then I'll be off from a week before my exams so during this week..maybe 12-15 hours a day…..

    If you think you can actually do that 4-5 hours realistically then I think you can do it. But I like giving myself some padding on estimates so maybe mid Oct?

    CharlesD look at this Accounting equation:

    Asset (Success or Passing) = Liability (Avoided being Lazy) + Owners Equity (Tons of effort put into the study process and purchasing the study material)

    Looks like your ready for the exam on monday best of luck partner..

    Maybe someone can help me understand something……….the 18month testing requirement…….I have spoken with both NASBA and the Florida State Board of Accountancy and have received conflicting information. The question i have is, when does the 18month period begin and end. I took and passed my first section Feb. 23, 2009. My score was posted on March 21, 2009. According to NASBA, my 18month period began when my score was posted and ends on September 20, 2010. The State Board agrees with this. The problem is, according to NASBA, as long as I sit for and pass my final section by the end of August, I'll be good to go. According to the State Board, I have to have my passing final exam score POSTED by September 20, 2010 in order to have met the requirement. I took my final section on August 20, 2010. I'm so confused…..my contact at NASBA is continuing to stand by his position, that it will make no difference when my exam score is posted, only that it's a passing score and that I sat for it prior to my 18month period. This completely opposite of what my State Board is saying……………any thoughts?

    @whitem12003

    This is what it says on most of the State board websites including Florida and California

    The clock starts the date you pass the first section. If the remaining sections are not passed within the next 18 months, you lose the credit for the first section and the next section passed becomes the target date. For example: You passed Audit on February 5, 2007 and BEC on April 8, 2007 this means in order to retain credit for Audit you must pass the remaining sections on or before August 5, 2008, otherwise exam credit for this section expires and the remaining sections, including Audit, must be passed on or before October 8, 2008.

    I am guessing it is based on when you take the exam because in the example above, they don't publish results by February 5. If they based it on when you received the results, it would be out of your control, and that wouldn't be quite fair.

    In CA my 18m is from the point I took the first test and passed. For instance I took FAR on May 14th and received a passing credit a few months later. But, my expiration date is Oct 14th, 2011.
