Becker corrects this statement on their website saying that now you can possibly see a simulation on governmental and NFP. They have it under the list of corrections and updates for either 9 or 8.

Yes becker corrected their statement but it is very unlikely to get a NFP & Gvpt simulation. But they will still test you on basic journal entries in multiple choice, like becker homework does. There are so many multiple choice on 8 & 9 because it's 20% of total and since it's not in simulations it's about 30% of multiple choice. So don't blow it off.

AnonymousInactiveFirst Testlet: Crushed 28 of 30 at the worse
Second Testlet: Soul Crushing, seriously like I would be almost certain but there was always one small detail or curveball that threw me off. I had 14 marked for review. If I am able to get half of those I am happy.
Third Testlet: Crushed. I mean 30 for 30
Sim 1: Written Comm: Short and sweet. Sims: felt pretty good from what I can remember
Sim 2: Written Comm: long and full of bs but good enough for some decent credit. Sims: A little confusing but 2 out of 3 I got, i think. The last one was greek to me.
Estimated score 88. PEACE I'm out

evaianosParticipantrshaneo,
I used Kaplan to study for FAR. Unfortunatly I didn't pass for first time and I change to Becker (still waiting for score). There is not too much diferrence between Kaplan and Becker but price.
I used 2010 edition and I didn't like at Kaplan that some topics are not updated. Also some of the questions from Qbank are very old and solved by a rule which is not available anymore. Governmental and Not for profit are explained very good. I scored high on this topic and I never study gov't accounting before.
Becker dont explain better than Kaplan but the way they explain is much closer with questions from exam.

gabe1475ParticipantJust sent an email to AZ Board of Accountancy with some general questions on how scores are released. In addition to answering my questions she mentioned they received an early attendance list and confirmed that I was on it and my score should be in Wave 1. I hope I do not get a dissapointment next week. It is hard to study, but will keep busy over the weekend to keep my mind off it.

AnonymousInactiveI felt that the Becker Final Exams were good for review. Really nail down the contribution revenue for NFP as far as what is restricted and when to recognize. That was definitely one of my weaker points and may have missed some easy points. Everyone's study style will be different but I would read a chapter a day and then do all the MCQ for that chapter. Sometimes things just clicked and I would not have to review it very heavily, (pension, leases, acquisitions, equity/cost methods) sometimes it didn't, (NFP, non-monetary exchanges, temp tax difference). I really feel I got out of the exams what I put into them and that was lots of hours, over 400 to be exact. However, for me it was to prove my worth as a future job candidate as I had a chip of my shoulder from graduating without one offer for some strange reason.
Back to the subject at hand, just go in confident don't spend too much time on questions you do not know. Mark them and come back to them at the end. I did this 4 to 5 times today and was able to figure out the answers just by taking a small break. Have a plan on how much time you want to spend on each section. Today I finished my first section in 25 minutes but it took me 1 hour to do the next. I planned on 45minutes a section so I knew I was fine. I don't know what else to say but the examples in Becker are very helpful except the exam likes to toss in some extra detail that may knock you off the path.
YOU CAN DO IT!

Kathyb16ParticipantWell today isd a really stressful day!! I am sitting for FAR tomorrow morning and I really don't feel very comfortable with it..in fact lets be honest I feel VERY UNCOMFORTABLE with it!! I have done the Becker classes and have studied and studied and studied…I am soo brain dead that I can't study anymore!! When I do one of the review exams it seems like I am getting different ones wrong and just getting soooo frustrated!! On top of that I will have my BEC score released tonight but I will not check it until tomorrow AFTER the exam. Oh what a tough night this is gonna be…I sometimes just wanna give up!!

AnonymousInactivetry not to stress out you'll do fine. I took it yesterday and felt the same way. I didn't do any studying the night before and tried to get a good nite sleep and it helped. I thought FAR and REG were of similiar difficulty. You did great on REG so you'll have a good chance on FAR. Good Luck tomorrow!! PS I am still waiting for my scores from early and mid July and am getting impatient. Oh well!

AnonymousInactiveHey everyone,
Just a heads up on the governmental accounting possibilities within the sims. I won't go into gross details due to the regulations regarding talking about specific test questions, but I will say this – know…governmental…and..NFP!!!! Got absolutely hammered on it in my sims when I failed by 3 points.
