    Still getting the message “scores in progress”; thus, I assume NO score for me today… I won't spend my night checking NASBA's site today (as I did yesterday)! Totally unproductive so far.

    DONE!

    @MPoni123,

    My pursuit of accounting is a new career move. I was in software and financial services. Now that I completed my CPA I am in hot pursuit of a job, Do you think I should pursue public accounting or corporate accounting?

    I would definitely recommend public accounting! I think most people make the move from public to private (I think that is what you are referring to?) but not really the other way around. I think you should gain as much experience as you can at a public accounting firm and then if you wanna go private…do that. I have gained sooo much knowledge being at my firm for the past 2 years. (everything from all different corporate returns to compilations, audits, and reviews)

    I am lucky because I get a variety of work and I am not pigeon-holed in one area! (like some of the big 4 firms can do to you). I like interacting with different clients and seeing the array of businesses they have. It's pretty cool 🙂

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

    I remember someone posting earlier today that they had the ” All or some sections of your Notice to Schedule (NTS) have been attended but scores have not been received.” OASIS message, no coordinator reference all day prior to receiving a passing score later that night. Can't find the post though.

    Congrats on passing FAR whonis! Was it your first exam? I have not yet received my score 🙁 I don't think I will get it tonight either..just a feeling I have. My OH loophole message says “Sorry all sections of the exam are currently in process..please call etc.” but doesn't give me the exam coordinator part which people say if you are waiting on your last section you need…So I think NASBA doesn't have my score tonight (my OH loophole message has been the same for a few days now)

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

    @MPoni123& Whonis2002,

    thank you for your advice. I like the idea of getting a whole array of experience and not being only in audit or tax.

    Mponi123 yes it was my first exam, but I guess I should not over celebrate because the other three exam may just out fox me and I end up losing FAR. I have read some scary stories of how people lose their results for sections they have passed because of the whole 12 month window and challenges they faces in passing the remaining sections. I really hope I don't have to do FAR again, that was a “bloody nightmare on AICPA/NASBA street”.

    @ Mponi123-

    What state are you from? Is your firm currently hiring? I'm currently looking for a job in Public Accounting.

    REG 8/30/09 = 86, BEC 11/30/09 = 76, AUD 04/01/10 = 83, FAR 08/28/10 = 76

    mark – I am in MA. We actually just had some layoffs this past tax season 🙁 Luckily I am still there!

    @ whonis – the time frame is 18 months! not 12! haha gives us a little longer. I lose AUD end of April 2011 and REG end of May 2011..so I still have a few more tries with FAR if need be

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

    @mark – a great online website to search for jobs is http://www.indeed.com. It pretty much searches all the major job sites! I see you are in NJ – is that the state you are getting licensed in?

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!
