MPoni123Participanthahah @Bigmones – i think my boyfriend would be scared to look at the score online for me because if it's a score i don't wanna see he will probably feel horrible lol like he jinxed it or something! and i would DEFINITELY kill him if he lied and said i failed if i really passed. i don't think he would dare do that though considering that score release nights are the most important day of a CPA candidate lol.
Craigory – you are only 26 and using the term “whipper snappers” hahaha that made me laugh.
AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

suzzette1ParticipantI am using Yaeger Homestudy for FAR. What is the effective way of studying these materials? Do you have to do the assigned MCQ's and simulations at the end of their lectures or do all these after a day or two?
BEC 2/8/10 - 75 (studied hard & prayed less)
REG 5/15/10 - 88 (studied less but prayed hard)
AUDITING 8/9/10 - 79 (studied hard and prayed hard)
FAR 11/30/10 - 79 (studied hard and prayed hard) Thanks GOD! I'm DONEAugust 12, 2010 at 8:35 pm #243033
MPoni123Participantsuzette – it probably depends on what you prefer. i am also using Yaeger homestudy and because there are 46 hours of lecture to get through…i am watching all the lectures first, taking notes, etc. while i watch the lectures and then i am going to go back and do the assigned MCQs and review. i don't want to take the chance that i run out of time in watching the lectures because i was doing MCQs from the first few chapters!
AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

gabe1475ParticipantI actually found it helpful to do the MC after each section as it reinfoced the topic while it was fresh even if you have to look up some answers. If you do a couple of chapters and do MC, I found I retained almost nothing and had to rewatch the lecture. But as Mponi stated, whatever works for you.

robamartinParticipantTook FAR yesterday. I felt like I did very good on the MC questions, but the simulations were a killer. First problem was that I didn't leave myself enough time to do them, second problem is that I had trouble with the research. I have never had a problem with the research assignments before, in fact, I went to that tab of the simulation first because it is typically easy points for me. Not this time… I wasted about 10 to 15 minutes trying to figure it out before giving up. I tried both the topical index as well as the search function. These both lead me to the same place, a sort of index screen where normally there would be links to the standards, but on my test there were no links. I couldn't even attempt an answer because it would not take me to the literature. I don't know what happened. I tried the practice test today on the AICPA website, and tried to research the same question that I did on the exam. This time, it had the blue links to take you to the authoritative literature, however, it would not allow me to go to any of the FAS's. When I clicked on the link to get to the FAS's, a message came up that said something like “this material has been purposefully removed.” I would let you read the old ARB's and stuff like that, but none of the FAS's. So, I am very confused about this and why I couldn't use the search function or topical index on the exam and also confused as to why the FAS's have been removed from the practice simulation on the AICPA website. I was thinking that it might have something to do with the codification, but I still don't understand why I could not read authoritative literature using the search function or topical index.
This really through me off for the rest of my simulation work. Totally bombed the simulations. Anyone have any answers? Has anyone had the same problem?

potatogunParticipantResearch is worth very little so you should skip it if you can. It is a bummer that you were not in a good state of mind afterwards…

AnonymousInactiveSend NASBA or the AICPA an e-mail documenting your issue. You have 5 days. Hey, if you get a 74, this could be the point you need to put you over the edge.

AnonymousInactiveok guys! I take the test on Saturday! I actually feel surprisingly good. I have taken Beckers 2 final exams and as for MC made a 80,83,83 on one and an 86,73,80 on the second. If things go like my other exams this puts me in a good position to pass. I am still super nervous though. A lot of my fellow classmates have taken it recently and psyched me out. Tomorrow I will go over my weak points such as non monetary exchanges, which I miss all questions on, and inventories, as well as journal entries, knowing those seems to be the key to simulations! I will take it easy though and relax. I always schedule my exams in the afternoons so I can sleep in Saturday. Hopefully this is my last one! I have definitely put in the time and feel like I have done everything I could. Just hoping for some encouraging words! This forum has been really great! I will definitely update yall on how it went! Just trying to keep it cool and remember i am as ready as ill ever be! Good luck to all taking it soon! Can't wait to be a CPA with yall!
