thanks, good luck to you as well. After my FAR exam I'm taking it easy with AUD, this will be my “see what happens” section. I just physically and emotionally refuse to overstudy, just can't do it. But I will buckle up for BEC big time, want it off my back before it changes!
I believe it's a great idea to not look at your score, it is in fact very distracting. If you failed, you will be upset; if you passed, you will be overly confident. FAR is a lot of info, make sure not to panic during the exam. Gosh hope I passed that monster…

InactiveMPoni – I am struggling through this with you! I just started F-6 last night in Becker. It seems like it's taking me forever to get through this! I'm so tired of studying but I really want this to be my LAST exam!! So I know I need to give it every ounce of energy I can muster. I had a panic attack last night after the lectures on Bonds Payable (F-5). But after I calmed down a bit this morning I know that I just need to go back through the book and put some extra time in for that area and I'll understand all the differences……
I haven't tracked my hours at all because that worked for me on the other parts, but now I'm wondering… I'm going to try to finish all the lectures by Friday; I've already done MCQs for Ch. 1 through 4 and part of 5. I'm considering taking the week before my exam off from work (without pay…) not sure yet though.
Keep us posted on how you're doing. This is your LAST part and you can make it to the finish line!!

ParticipantThis is my first exam so I'm not exactly aware of previous exam result distribution sequences. I was wondering if anyone thinks it's possible that one may be able to obtain their FAR grade at some point next week. I'm a NY candidate as the name implies. Thanks for the insight.
FAR - 8/4 - 93
AUD - 8/26/10 - 97
REG - 10/3/10 - 93
BEC - 11/21/10 - 82August 10, 2010 at 2:01 pm #242973Anonymous
Inactive@NY CPA…most likely not.
BEC is always released first, with the other following behind. Then once the AICPA releases, you have to wait at least one more day for NASBA to post.
I think Jeff has predictions for the following week.

Participantconnie!! good to hear from you 🙂 thanks for the encouraging words. i really hope this is my last part. i am still waiting on my BEC score! you are further along than i am. i just want to get through the lectures at this point so stopped doing the MCQs after each section. maybe it's a mistake..but it would take me forever to get through all the material. i want to leave myself with 2 weeks to review, which i do think is enough time. i studied for about an hour last night, which is nothing!
i asked my manager for the next 2 weeks off and it has to be approved by the partners etc. so i am really hoping they approve it. my firm is actually awesome when it comes to supporting the staff with the CPA exam. but i had time off in July to study for BEC so…
cpa journey – i don't think i can wait until after my FAR exam to look at my BEC score. i think NOT knowing my score, but know that it's on the website will be more of a distractor to me. hopefully in another week they will be released.
NY.CPA – you won't know about score release until the AICPA releases them. (not sure if NY is independent or NASBA state), but keep checking this website and you will know. also, if you got new simulations, you are automatically in wave 2 (scores will be released probably 3rd week of sept). you won't know if you are in wave 2, though until all wave 1 scores have been released and surprise, surprise, you didn't get yours.
AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

ParticipantI took FAR last week. Needing some encouragement!! I felt like the multiple choice weren't too bad…felt really good about the first testlet, second and third were harder but I still felt like I was doing okay. I was really lost on both SIMS, but I answered every tab and did both written communications and I think I found both Research topics. I know that one of my WC was not so good, the other was better. I left the exam with 9 minutes left.
With being so lost on the SIMS, do I have any hope? Ugh!

ParticipantconnieCPAin2010 am just about to complete F5 with all the multiple choice questions boy this a real drag. One thing I learn't to do quickly after mastering the schedule put out by becker in this chapter is the investment and payable accounts using the format/schedule becker advise to master. Pretty cool in solving those types of questions. I really freaked out this morning when I did one of the progress tests for chapter 3. Again I missed the small details and still scoring poorly. Hopefully by the third week am done with the whole book and I can quickly review everything in the last week. At this point am so discouraged, it feels like I already failed FAR…. God help me break this vicious circle

Inactivewhonis2002 – I hear ya! I feel like there is no way I can pass this with all this information! I even considered putting my exam off until the next window, but I really don't want to do that. So I am pushing on through this material. Some days I feel like I haven't learned anything and other days I'm getting it. So frustrating! What date are you taking the exam?
August 10, 2010 at 6:07 pm #242980whonis2002
ParticipantAm taking the exam on 08/31. I also wanted to push it to November but that will disorganize my study schedule for REG and BEC which I plan on taking in October and November respectively. As it is am already hate the fact that I have to take audit in January 2011 new format because I had to it put off to have more time to review FAR.

ParticipantconnieCPAin2010 I forgot to ask.. what is the dress code when going to take these exams? Is dressing casual like putting on beach shorts and a T–shirt okay. Or does it have to be business like attire. Am hoping it all casual.

Inactivewhonis2002
Casual is good. Depending on the temp of the testing site you may want to layer your clothes. In TX they crank the air up and I am always cold.
August 10, 2010 at 6:30 pm #242983MPoni123
Participantyou can pretty much wear whatever you want. i know in MA that if you go in the testing center room with a sweatshirt on, etc. you can't take it off. so i usually wear a tank top and then a very light fleece just in case. i am usually comfortable like that.
on to Module 14 in Yaeger – investments. earnings per share suck!
AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!
August 10, 2010 at 6:43 pm #242984Anonymous
Inactivewhonis2002–
Yes, you can wear whatever you want. Problem is you never know if it will be cold or warm in the test center! Just to be safe, I'll be wearing my same outfit I wore to Audit and passed! LOL
You are smart to try to get 3 of the exams in this year. Thats another reason I'm making myself stick with this testing window – if by chance I don't pass, I'll have another window left in this year. I hope I don't end up using it though!
