For review materials, I can't recommend Roger CPA highly enough! I actually tried doing Yaeger, but the teaching style was a little too dry for me. Becker advertised a lot at my school, but I didn't read very good feedback about them online. Roger also advertised at my school, and he's just an engaging kind of guy. He is really funny, and has a ton of great memory aids… he always says “stupid, but they work”. I have never found myself feeling bored or wanting to fall asleep while watching roger. Even with all the great memory aids, it's hard to remember everything for FAR. As I mentioned above, I only gave myself 3 weeks to study for this section, so I'm not sure if I passed or not. If I didn't, I'll go right back to Roger and work harder on remembering all of his mnemonics. 🙂

jenben – you only gave yourself 3 weeks to study for FAR?! wow that isn't much time at all! i am giving myself about 5 weeks, which i think is cutting it close.

on another note…i am doing Module 13 for Yaeger on stockholders' equity and actually don't understand why phil and cindy are filming this section together?! i am only about 15 min into the lecture and am distracted with both of them there. their teaching styles are SO different and actually prefer cindy's teaching techniques. i don't get why both of them are lecturing together. i am just secretly waiting for cindy to take over. she has to be quiet so her behavior is unsual lol. this is the only critique i have! maybe for 2011 just one of them can teach it.

beckeralltheway i am hoping this will be last exam as well! waiting for my BEC score…i love upbeat songs they get me pumped lol. sometimes i just need to jump around!

i finished my MBA in december 2008 and the cpa exam has been about 1 year and 1/2 process for me. once the cpa exam is done…i think i might go back to school and get an MST. 🙂 i think i can definitely do it after this grueling process.

only 3.5 weeks left in this testing window! lets do it to it 🙂

Can't wait for my score. I should be in wave 1 but I'm not sure if the deal is the same for independent states (I'm in Virginia). Should I expect my FAR score around August 22? Anyone know when I should start checking VA BOA website for my score? Thanks!

Took my FAR exam this morning. I've taken BEC and REG before this, and FAR is, by FAR, the hardest I've taken so far!

Anyone know if today falls in the first window by chance?

wags – think wave 1 cutoff was either August 6 or 7. so it looks like you might be in wave 2.

tracking my hours for FAR is actually stressful to me. on the other 3 exams i couldn't even tell you how many hours i studied and i passed both AUD and REG. (BEC was a retake)…but i still didn't track them. since i am giving myself less time for FAR i wanted to make sure i was doing 25 hours a week. week 1 was 24.25 so pretty good….

this week…10. 🙁 ugh. just finished Module 8 tonight with Yaeger and moving on to Module 9 probably tomorrow night. i am tired and i am running out of steam. i just want to be able to get through all the lectures by 8/16 so i will have a solid 2 weeks of review for all the material.

how is everybody else doing?!

big shot cpa – you might be in wave 1 and independent states receive their scores earlier than NASBA states i believe, but if you got a new simulation then you are automatically in wave 2. you won't know that, though until the scores for wave 1 come in…and you didn't get yours. i would definitely check this forum, though! 🙂

Thanks MPoni123, I guess I'll be checking. I was concerned for a sec because when I checked VA website, it said that FAR was processed but there was no score, I guess that just means I took the exam, hope it doesn't mean I failed. Now back to Audit 🙁

Youhave been very busy testing! My gosh – this is your ental marathon! Wishing you luck! I am waiting on BEC and take FAR at the end of the month. I am going to try and hopefully suceed in not looking at my BEC score until after I sit for FAR. I will most likey be very torn. But I don't want to distract myself – and I know looking at that score would be distracting for me!

I am kind of wondering, with the exam changing in 2011, if they are even doing new sims right now? Seems like they'd be focused on redesigning everything? Maybe just wishful thinking on my part. 🙂
