That is what is confusing, board members don't need to be accountants so they would not have the specialized skills unless stated. I think that one is an error. I still deducted as wrong, but I don't agree with it.

Sorry to be so needy….but I was hoping I could get some advice.

I test on Wednesday & can't seem to get my quiz scores above 65-70%.

What are your recommendations on how to get more correct??

Should I read my notes more, do MCQ more…etc.

(I am reading all right/wrong answers & making notes–my problem areas don't seem to be a particular sections…just stupid little details)

    Thanks

Took the exam yesterday. Went horrible. My simulations were much harder than the first time i took it. My communications were both on sections that I am weak in. Hey at least i think i got both research questions right. Not sure on how i did on the MCQ's, they were very long and in depth, because of that i only left 35 minutes each for simulations. So, i think i failed.

    CPA-Valenz,

I recommend doing more multiple choice questions. When you say stupid little details are these things that you already know, but just seem to mess up when doing the problems. If so, doing more multiple choice questions will help you to get better at not screwing those up.

    CPA-Valenz,

Good luck tomorrow! Post here afterwards and let us know what you thought.

    keepon,

I spent too much time on the MCQs and I'm fairly sure I failed. I really felt prepared too. Hopefully they will curve the crap out of it.

@ CPAWannaBe….what would your suggestion be??

The day before, I went over my notes and tried to visualize them. I have a photographic memory but it doesn't last very long. I had such a headache from studying that I really tried to not look at too much the day before so I would feel okay the next day.

When you take the exam, don't focus on the difficulty too much and the testlets being adaptive. Take one question at a time and read it thoroughly. Some will be easy and some will be hard in all three testlets. Leave an hour and a half to two hours for the simulations.

Just think about how much you prepared and realize you can't know everything. No one can. If we don't pass this time, it's not the end of the world, there's always another window and hopefully we end up with an exam that we know enough to make a 75. There is some element of luck involved. I used to think there wasn't but know I do, so good luck!

i also want to say that i hate this exam. I've studied more for this that all my other ones. I don't get it, i'm an accountant by trade and i can't pass this? im thinking i should just jump ship and become a bulldozer operator, they seem like happy folk, plus i could plow all my review materials and bury them forever.

Not sure if you do this already, but perhaps reading the call of the question before you read all the entire question will help you wade through all the distracter information. It will also give your mind a bit more time to organize your thoughts around that question. If you are selecting your responses before reading all four possible answers – reading all 4 may be helpful.

But reading and actually understanding the call of the question will save you prcious time and reduce your frustration during the exam.

Jotting down dates to ensure you get the proper periods, key information may help you ensure you have all the right infomation that is required to answer the call of the question. We need to target that correct answer!

Be sure to get plenty of sleep tonight and be rested for the exam. A clear mind is worth a lot of points and time on this exam!

    Good luck!

    keepon,

I am with you on this one. The fact that we only have one left doesn't make things easier especially if failing that one multiple times. Do they have more openings for bulldozer operators? send me an e-mail if you want: ginageorge2006@yahoo.com

CPA-Valenz – I would suggest testing in your difficult areas only. Right now you are taking tests/quizes where you spend 70% of your time on what you already know and 30% on what you don't. Since you only have a day left work on only the items that are problems for now. Then at the end of the day take a quick break to calm down and try one more test keeping in mind the problems you have every time a similar question comes up.

Usually I try to test once a day and study problem areas after each test. We don't have this luxury today as this time tomorrow both of us will be taking FAR.

    Good luck!

    REG - 94
    BEC - 84
