    Does anyone have any thoughts as to why people were put into this last batch? Do you think it had something to do with the “new sim” thing or do you think we were really on the borderline of pass/fail. I have never seen this before.

    @vincen72 you must have taken and passed all parts by 8/31/2010 from what you stated. I think you are going to lose FAR.

    @Aries

    This batch is borderline. New sims will be wave 2 (september), lucky me…

    big shot cpa does this mean if one taking the FAR exam on 8/31 chances are that one is a getting a new sim?

    @whonis2002

    I really don't think so. Maybe they have a few exams every day of the window that are with a new sim. It's all about random sampling stuff, then they apply the weighs to tabs/MCs necessary to arrive at the 45-50% passing rates. Either way, if you take your exam 8/31, you will get it in wave 2, they can't push it any further. It just sucks that I took it in July way before cutoff and I won't find out till September when people who took it 2 weeks ago already got their scores…

    @whonis yeah looks like it. far is def harder than bec or aud, but bec is killing me because i was procrastinating too much and now I have 1.5 chapters to cover still and aug 31 is here! (almost). Good luck studying, wish I could help, but you pretty much have to know everything on FAR, it's not focused on anything in particular :-/

    big shot cpa I believe you and with my kind of luck I probably get lots of questions in inventory or temp differences in taxes which I hate alot.

    I took my exam 8/13 and my (passing) score was released in wave 1. lesson: don't believe the “cut off” date.

    ChaFayCPA,

    So sorry to hear that you got a 74. I was almost sure you passed from what you said about the exam. This is so frustrating when this is your last exam. Let's defeat it together in November.

    @FARbehind: Thanks for the encouragement. I know it stinks to be so close yet so FAR away!! I'm giving myself the weekend off and am gonna start again with studying. I paid for the exam so I'm just waiting on the NTS. Don't know exactly when I'll schedule. I will be busy through the 10/15 extension deadline. I won't lose any credits til next May but am hoping to be done next quarter. What review course are you using? I am using Becker but am considering getting their final review or Yaeger's as a supplement.

    ChaFayCPA,

    I was using becker so far but realized that I am not getting better for FAR (failed 3 times). I am losing my AUD credit end of Feb so still 2 windows. However, I don't want to do it in Jan/Feb window when the content changes. I ordered yeager this time so I am converting to yeager.

    @cpaguy – I took FAR on 8/7, Illinois board, and I have not received anything from any of the three updates. However, a buddy of mine took REG on 8/12 and he got his results on the first round of REG release.

    I am hoping that because the NASBA twitter states it takes 24-48 (business) hours to post that it will be posted on Monday or Tuesday. I don't think it will happen though because I took AUD on 7/1 and when they released scores on Friday August 13 around 5 (per NASBA twitter), the score was posted on ILBOA's website Saturday around 11:00 A.M.

    Good luck to you and hopefully we get our scores before September.

    What are people seeing in recent waves as the heavier tested material? Yes I understand you to study it all, and I have, just curious as to what they have been emphasizing on recent MCQ's and simulations.

    @CPA IL. we are in the EXACT same position (except that I took FAR on 8/2). Thanks for getting back to me.

    Good luck as well!! Hopefully the AICPA comes through for us!
