Hello everyone. I am new to this site — Does anyone know if you did not mail in your final transcript to NASBA for the state of NY will they post your scores? I had 120+ credits prior to graduation & was able to sit for exams.
I took FAR 07/21 and my score is not yet posted – don't know if I should bother to continue hitting refresh!!
I attended the University of Northern Iowa. Our last semester of class consists of 3 CPA Review Courses. They briefly touch on the different BEC sections (Wiley) in parts of REG, AUD, and FAR Review.
@geaux11 – Very cool, more schools should offer CPA review courses; I will have to throw that idea to the head of the accounting department at my school. I think taking all of the sections over a period of 1 month is very do-able especially if you're a recent college grad. Most of the material is just review with a few details thrown in.
@NYcpaKGB… I'm from Minnesota and we can sit for the exam before we have all of the credits in but we are not allowed to get our score until we mail our final transcripts. I'd call your state representative because I had to wait a week and a half longer for my FARscore last window because my Rep was taking forever to release my hold. I dont know about your state but I'd call tomorrow to see if there is a hold on your account until they receive teh transcripts.
@Unreal…I wouldn't have minded doing a fast-track program. It was a long semester with a lot of work. But the school has a very high first time pass rate for all 4 exams, so it will definitely be worth it if I get by Reg.
@koliver good idea!! I will reach out to them first thing in the morning. I appreciate your advice. Unfortunately I just mailed my transcripts so they have not received them yet and might not release a hold if there is one. What a process!!
@NYcpaKGB – Sorry if my information was wrong. NJ candidate here. I will be finishing the credit requirements this coming semester and just received my FARscore a few hours ago.
@Unreal – that's okay! I'm actually from NJ testing in NY so I understand the confusion. Even applying for the exam itself was a month long process to figure out, especially with people from NJ having to do the application different. How do you like the fast pass? Thought about doing it, but seemed like too much information too quick – the pass rates are incredible though!
@NYcpaKGB – Fast Pass is great only if you decide to invest large amounts of time into it. I spent just about the entire summer studying; I had no work interference or other obligations that would eat up my time. It's a lot of information, but after going through it all 2-3 times, it sinks in pretty easily. I would especially suggest it for recent college grads or those still attending because 80% of the material is just a review of all of the courses you've taken over the past few years.
