I got my results for FAR, my first exam, this morning. Got an 82. I'm in Florida, a NASBA state, and I have to say that the “Ohio Loophole” trick did not work for me. I attempted to register for FAR yesterday and got right up to the point where I was allowed to pay. I have to say it was a good thing that the door to the roof of my building here at work was locked at that point……JK. Anywho, I then tried the same thing for BEC, which I haven't taken yet, and was also allowed to reregister.

Anywho, Congrats to those of you who passed with me and condolences to those who may not have made it. Hang in there and you'll get it next time. After going through this, I have a lot of respect for those who have to go through this nightmare more than once. Waiting for these results was one of the most ridiculous and frustrating things I've been though and I feel for those of you who haven't gotten your scores yet….Someone should start a “NASBA Sucks” website.

italianCPA Congratulations for your 95! That is very impressive! I am currently studying for my FAR exam and I am struggling to remember everything ! I am using Yaeger Homestudy and Becker any suggestions on how to beat this “beast”? This is my last exam and I hope to passed before 2010!

I feel your pain….trust me. I don't know how to lick this one but we have put in too much time to just give up. I have 2 little girls and I keep doing this for them. I can't ever tell them not to be a “quitter” if their mommy is one. I am tired of having to miss spending time away from them to study for this MONSTER but we will get it!

It all depends on how familiar you are with financial accounting.

I knew how to do the J/Es because it is (or was is more appropriate) my job.

For theory and concepts the becker mnemonics helped a lot.

Then I practiced a lot of mcq.

I took one becker final exam and I scored 85 on the mcqs, so if you get a decent score on that it means you are prepared.

Yeah, Allsyon, I did that long time ago. You need a new approach… bucking fecker doesn't really explain much for FAR and is more helpful for people with a good accounting base, as a review tool. Yaeger will teach you. Hmm, I've also got something you might like – I'll send you info on FB.

NASBA hasnt received my scores as yet. What does that mean? Will I be bumped up to Wave 2? Could I still get my scores later today? How often does NASBA update their system?

CONGRATS!! You have awesome scores for both FAR and AUD! I checked this morning too and I passed!! Yesterday I had a dream I got a 70 on my FAR exam, and I came out of the test really not knowing how I would do (it was my first too)! I am sooo happy right now that I passed.

MA test taker and Last exam. I'm getting the message “We are sorry. Currently all sections of this exam are still in process. Please call the number below.” from the OH loophole and the message “All or some sections of your NTS have been attended but scores have not been received.” from Oasis. Does this mean I am in wave 2?

CPAWannaBe ! Hang on there! Anna is right! You can make it! Everybody is struggling with FAR so you are not alone! I graduated 26 years ago from college ( outside of US) and I felt like I am starting from scratch everytime I study for every section. But I kept on pushing and hopefully this will pay off before 2010.

Zaara-Does that mean, we have been pushed to Wave 2? Hope not, the main idea of giving the exam early was to qualify for Wave 1. Could we still get our scores by the end of the week?

@ma_last_exam – I haven't gotten any of those loopholes or anything to work properly. Call NASBA its the most reliable thing since somehow it doesn't work in Mass… I can reregister for all of my exams using the ohio loophole…. It sounds like a lot of people are hearing that they now have scores with NASBA when they didn't yesterday…. good luck!
