My trending is now 65% on the NINJA MCQs (gone down from low 70s), I'm slightly freaking out ..I have 11 more days. I think because I am rushing through some of them during work, but still it is nowhere near where I need to be!!

@magatha12, I think the more questions we do the better we will feel about them. I went through a short session this morning and I did better today than another time. I still didn't score like I wanted to but I am getting it. So the plan to mcq until we are nuts goal is to see more problems, keep working questions. I am going over the sections I missed more than one question in and those that I missed because I didn't read the question, well I hope I will just read the question. Ok, so the point is keep working, keep doing the questions and going over the notes.

Are you guys mostly focusing on the MCQ? How are you preparing for the SIMS? I have access to both Becker and Ninja. There is no way I will get through all the SIMS before my test. I am trying to maximize my time at this point. Any suggestions?

I think the SIMS are very important. I have done only around 20 sims so far and I am planning to do 30 more in the next 4 days. My exam is on July 1st. Try to have atleast 1 hour a day for the sims.

I've been focusing on mcq's to make sure I nail down the concepts, but I agree with setting aside time for sims. So I am going to re budget my time to get it in. It's a lot but hey we can do it.

@jennibfox I believe that if you are pushed for time do the MCQ, master the rules and the journal entries. I have done all of the Sims in Becker and a lot of the one is Ninja. I honestly feel like a lot of the are simple. From people i know who have taken the test, they have told me not to expect my sims to look like anything I see in the review course and it really is just a crapshoot.

@Jspann – It pretty much is. You have no clue what Sims they will throw at you and on what topics. But it is good to familiarize yourself with J/E so you are at least somewhat comfortable with them. I also think knowing how to navigate through the AL is important in case you come to one and are blank. That is something I have to work on is the AL.

By the time I got to my Sims I was so tired of looking at problems that my brain was exhausted.

@tarheelgirl I agree with every word of that.

The sims that I think are great for practice are the bond amortization table and journal entries, lease journal entries, pensions, and cash flows (use AL).

I can't say of course what Sims I had on my first exam. But I agree with you 😉 If you think about it, all of those deal with liabilities in one way or another.

Yes I agree with you all. I am going try to complete more multiple choice but go through some of SIMS for practice. I am really going to try to nail down some of my weaker topics. I still have 7 days so plenty of time to hit a good number of mcq. Thanks everyone for the advice.

Jspann– What is your opinion about the difference in Sims with Becker and Ninja? Do you find one better than the other.

Can anyone give a really brief explanation of what the interest on ending capital balances of partnership capital accounts is..? More specifically, why is this a reduction to the capital account? It really doesn't say in the Becker textbook. This is in F10, by the way. Thanks for anyone that will help.

Is anyone else having trouble comprehending Governmental Accounting? I just can't seem to get it. I understand the basics but once you ask me about debit/crediting a specific account I am confused. I understand NFP though!

@Tarhellgirl — I have the exact opposite problem as you – I think I have a pretty good understanding of Governmental but having issues getting NFP to stick! Let's switch brains for a sec lol.
