Is anyone else feeling discouraged? I have studied for 3 weeks and am finishing up F8, and I take my exam on July 9th. So far, I have taken extensive notes (helps commit things to memory for me) as I watch the lectures, and then follow it up with the MCQs. I am saving sims for the review stage. I'm assuming it's fairly normal to not be sure if you are truly on track to passing…?

@thechapman I think it is pretty normal . I know I am on a roller coaster ride of emotions. At some points my confidence is sky high, and an hour later I am sure I don't know enough to pass. I am in the review stage now, and I test on the first. I have went back through all of the homework. I have been able to average an 84% without looking in the book or in my notes for any guidance. I miss a lot of my question due to small details I can't remember, and due to FAR being so extensive I am not sure I will ever be able to remember every small detail and exception to the general rule. I just hope that knowing the JE and and the big picture in each chapter of Becker is enough to pass.

Thanks for the advice, looks like you both have solid plans! You both have convinced me to do the 500 MCQ challenge this weekend 🙂

Simulations: How are you all studying for these? I am started to feel like I will not be prepared to take the exam on the 3rd. I have not done a practice exam but I am continuing to study the MCQ. Haven't really done much with the SIMS and I think this may be a big mistake. I just don't ever feel like there is enough time. I am not sure how to maximize my time. Any suggestions with SIMS or final review would be great.

I am also on the same boat like you. I will take the exam on July 1st and I have reviewed all the modules on wiley and done around 750 MCQs. Starting tomorrow I will do 3 Simulation every day for 8 days. Simulation will give you strength I guess. I believe we have time to be ready. Lets Do This!!!

Just bought the Ninja MCQ! I haven't gone through all the Wiley book ones (again) yet, but I think having software, rather than just picking an answer from a book is better. I am soooo excited to try it! Going to put it on my iPad and then take notes on my computer.

Anyone want to plan a MCQ date night this week? 😛 Tuesday at 7pm PST?

@jennibox it's dificult to say you aren't ready. it only costs $35 to move it back, so that's not a bad fee

I think doing SIMs on topics you are WEAK in is probably the best bet, but definitely know about JEs related to important topics and how the BS, IS, CF, etc are set up. Know calculation and how to do JEs related to the topic, with more time for SIMs this is where they have room to truly test you.

On chapter 9 right now watching the lectures…feels like it takes me the longest to go through the lectures for some reason.

I don't mind the HW or Sims at all…Tim Gearty is just so DRY.

    FAR - 81
    REG - 74, 87
    AUD - 88
    BEC - 88

@CPA50 Awesome! I'm scheduled for July 19. So… a little less than 1 month. I've gotten all my notes wrote up (I re-write the entire textbook in Word) now I am onto MCQ. My parents come for a week over the 4th so I am trying to get a good amount of MCQ before then in my notes. Then I will have exactly 2 weeks after they leave to solidify everything. Yikes.

Going through one of the Becker Sims on capitalizing costs. I thought that grading and paving new driveways/parking lots were part of land costs but it's neither land costs or building costs according to the Sim. I guess it's just depreciated separately?

@EYNewHire: paving and sidewalks are land improvements and you are right they are depreciated separately.
