A question for the FAR retakers. Are you all working in auditing ATM? Does your work experience factor in anywhere?

I get my results tomorrow and I am seriously worried. I knew the JE's and studied my heart out but its just so hard to know how well I did or didn't do.

For FAR you need to know the JE's and make an effort to figure them out / learn then esp if your review course doesn't give them all to you.

Secondly, really take part in your study group. There will always be a few strong people that can help better understand the concepts and bridge that gap that perhaps the review company will not do.

This is to all those that are strong in FAR – help your fellow study mates. By you being able to teach them not only helps them but helps you as you then reinforce those concepts in your head – therefore become stronger and stronger.

Lastly – nothing can replace doing lots of MCQ's and repeating the ones you get wrong. Make nuggets on why you get them wrong or right. Be true to yourself and just keep moving forward…

i've taken about 2 days off. funny i call them off days bc i always study at work for at least an hour then study more, listen to audiot etc. anyway, i'm done with everything for the most part. not gonna lie, i have 0 interest in derivatives but i'm gonna get to them eventually. i'm going to spend the next 7-10 days rewriting notes, MC, audio, and creating more note cards, but also aligning IFRS difference and collecting JEs. then for my final 10 days or so, i'm gonna focus on sims, do ninja MC, rewrite JEs, and try to create summaries of core concepts.

Did F5 lecture today gonna do the mcq and sims tomorrow for it. Then going to go over journal entries because that seems to be what everyone is saying. I'm at F5 using becker. I don't plan on taking FAR until the last possible day in august (still waiting on NTS).

FAR's amount of content is insane. I miss college. Only on F3…and I haven't even done the SIMS on any of them yet.

Forgetting about REG for now and trying to do a FAR retake asap, just failed today, so I am shooting to take it 7/5. 4 weeks of review. I think if I took my test again I would have hit that 75, I would have spent more time looking for my sim and actually used the AL for the rest of my sims, bah.

    AUD - 75 ☺
    FAR - 65, 71, 70, 77 ☺
    BEC - 80 ☺
    REG - 73, 66, 79 ☺ 2/28/15

    Done!

What's up all so I'm jointing this group because I landed a 72 on my first FAR attempt last week. I was fairly confident with my performance but maybe too confident. None the less I'm going to start Monday again and make a new strategy to review ALL the material again and make sure I nail this thing in round 2. However I can't take it till August though cause of a busy summer schedule and a 2 week trip to Italy coming up at end of June. So I will review overall material for next two weeks and then a more focused chapter review once I return from my trip. So I will get roughly 4 solid weeks before takin it again.

So I have only used Becker for all my exams and am wondering if I need to add additional material. (Questions, practice test , sims) to my second attempt. I plan on reading/reviewing each chapter and then going thru all the HW MCQs and sims. But also take a ton of progress test. I worry about getting too familiar with some of the questions.

Any thoughts or ideas for me?

@D C, you are so close! I bet Becker will be enough to pass. I am using Becker and got a 65 and I think it was the sims that killed me. I am going to look at my score report and tackle my weak areas. Then I am going to do practice exams and as many sims as possible.

Thank you For the link Anjanja. To those of you who are using Becker, please keep in mind that Becker assumes that you know you JEs inside out. They go over things that are important but they never go over JEs in detail. Becker assumes that the mc is 70% of FAR like few years ago. The simulations part of this exam wants to test you on JEs. You might know the rules and get 80s on your mc comprehensive tests but if you are not sure of the JEs to use in each scenario, you will end up with a 70 to 74 score. Please don't make the mistakes I have made.
