1st full week of studying for my retake. I jumped right into Ninja MCQ, and about half way done. My average score is 78-the topics I am weak on are no surpise. I started to re-write my own notes today, but that was so de-motivating, I didn’t get very far. Tomorrow I need to re-write my notes (they are disjointed from my first test, I want to re-write them by topic in a new notebook). I really need to re-read my Becker book on acquisitions, equity method, and non-monetary exchanges so far. My plan is to get through the rest of the Ninja MCQ by end of next week, and re-write the rest of my notes. I then plan on printing out Ninja notes (didn’t utilize last time) and then jump into SIMS, while re-doing the missed MCQ in Ninja and continue re-reading the book. How are others approaching their re-take?

@tncincy – sorry to hear about your experience. I was also wondering if I picked a bad time to pursue this with everything going on in my home life. However, my family is still very supportive even when I feel guilty. Don’t give up. Sounds like you have a plan on how to prepare for future exams. I’ll see you in REG 😊

Thanks msquared17, do we need a reg post? I posted in the reg group, I was wondering about Becker flash cards. I was doing Ninja only, but my family surprised me with Becker. Is anyone using the flash cards?

@tncincy- I’m using Becker too. The flash cards are ok. Some of them are too wordy. But they come in handy when you’re in line at a drive thru or sitting in traffic. 🙂

@Tncincy, I'm concerned. How many more CPA review products are you planning to get with only 46 days left in this testing window (till June 9th/10th)?

I couldn’t even figure out how to finish just this (main) Becker until my test date. I've only done 45% after completing R1-R4 today.
I’m overwhelmed because R5 (Entity Taxation) contains 100 pages (textbook). For R6, R7, and R8, I’ve covered/written all the notes from EBook. All I’d be doing is to finish the MCQ testbank, skills practice, and SIM.

Do or die, I will take both the Mock Tests 1 & 2 and answer all NINJA MCQs. I know, with just one round of NINJA, I’ll be golden!

@Armor So you're saying I should just stick with Ninja then? Do ninja mcq's and forget about Becker? Believe me I don't have anymore money to buy any materials. I am trying to make the best of what I have. I was just asking about the flashcards. Can use a good way to use Becker though. I have not set a date yet and didn't realize it's 45 days until the window is over. I guess I better see if there are any seats available.

@tncicny – I think you should use Becker ( since you have it) as primary and Ninja to supplement. Reg may be easy since you own a tax business. I don’t think I’m going to make this window. I’m gonna try, 45 days is not a lot of time.

No, don’t forget about Becker. To me, the way Becker’s text is laid out makes my studying more comprehensible and less boring. (Ignoring how much Becker is priced…) For the way its software is laid out, Becker did a great job tying up the material together in alignment with the AICPA Blueprints.

The time is short for us to watch the lectures so just skip them and do these. (I’m talking to myself!)
    1. Read the text, write you own notes, and create your own flashcards, if you need to.
    2. Answer MCQs per topic
    3. Watch and complete the Skills practice
    4. Complete the Mock Tests (1&2)

Part of my study plan is also to answer all NINJA MCQs to make sure I’m comfortable with all the possible questions that I’ll be seeing in the actual test.
We’re crunched for time to do other things like worrying about other supplement materials and AICPA blueprints when we cannot even finish our (main) primary review source in one testing window.

    P.S.:
    @Tincincy, it’s Amor, not ARMOR….LOL

@Amor Oops, Sorry about that. (lol) Good points, I can do that. I guess I read faster than I listen anyway. Reg should be a little less stressful but I'm not taking it for granted.
