1st full week of studying for my retake. I jumped right into Ninja MCQ, and about half way done. My average score is 78-the topics I am weak on are no surpise. I started to re-write my own notes today, but that was so de-motivating, I didn’t get very far. Tomorrow I need to re-write my notes (they are disjointed from my first test, I want to re-write them by topic in a new notebook). I really need to re-read my Becker book on acquisitions, equity method, and non-monetary exchanges so far. My plan is to get through the rest of the Ninja MCQ by end of next week, and re-write the rest of my notes. I then plan on printing out Ninja notes (didn’t utilize last time) and then jump into SIMS, while re-doing the missed MCQ in Ninja and continue re-reading the book. How are others approaching their re-take?

Now I'm worried. 6 study days left and I'm still trending 50% on mcq's. The last set of questions were all from NInja Category 2. I'm really not sure how to improved my avg. at this point. I was thinking of doing the Becker mock exam to see where I am overall. I don't have time to waste and I'm not rescheduling this test. I think I might need to take the time to actually review my notes. The past two days I've been taking notes on questions that I get wrong. But I have to admit that I have not really looked at them. Is this the step I'm missing? Oh, and my Ninja percentages show I'm less than 80% if all categories except category 1. I still have about 700 unseen questions (Becker for primary study). So I'm not sure that I should use Ninja to truly guage my progress. Just when I thought I had this all figured out.

    I'm open to suggestions.

Well Far not looking too good for me either but Hey I'm going to keep trying. I'm swamped to day, I guess I'll turn on the ninja audio and leave it on repeat. 🙂

Today has been a much better day for studying. Overall Ninja average was 66% today (up from 50%). I also spent a couple of hours doing Pension Sims (Becker). I think I'll use the rest of the night to read my notes. Government tomorrow.

what's the difference between average score and average trending score?… I've got a 10% gap. Still not where I want to be but just curious.

Exam tomorrow. I don't feel as sick to my stomach as last time but ugh… this is SO MUCH MATERIAL! I plan on MCQ's all morning, break for lunch (ie get food and listen to audio) and then do SIMS all afternoon. Go back tonight and do MCQ's. Tomorrow am I'll have about 3 hours so I'll just run through MCQs and SIMs as if it's the exam and start praying.

Trending is your last 5 sessions, while is average is overall, so the early low scores are dragging that one down. I would focus on the trending one at this point. good luck tomorrow-you can do it!!!!!

Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better, I felt like no matter how much more I was getting, I wasn't increasing my average.

OK, that being said, I'm 24 hours outside exam time…. to average a 75% in each section of the MCQ's I have 3 sections that I need to work on (lordy help me)
Financial Statement Accounts: Recognition, Meas… I need to increase by 17%
Specific Transactions, Events, and Disclosures:… I need to increase by 10% (which surprises me, I'm normally better here)
Governmental Accounting and Reporting I need to increase by 36% (UGH!)

I'm assuming to keep doing Governmental Accounting and Reporting until it's closer but if you had to pick one or two to focus on most (I still need to get some SIMS work in) which would you do?

Good luck Pam! For governmental-just take some time to read the book-it certainly helped me. It's still a shitshow no matter what, but at least should be limited to MCQ on the exam…

Tncincy-happy studying! I can't believe this thread lives on! My another71 legacy I suppose:) LOL!

@Pam – good luck tomorrow! You can do it!

    @Tncincy
    – how are you feeling? I am so ready for REG. Honestly, I think I'm just ready for FAR to be over LOL!

Less than 48 hours until exam time! At this point, I'm not stressing. I'm continuing the MCQ's in both Ninja and Becker. I've been doing Becker sims. I didn't do any sims the last time. I feel pretty good about the exam. I don't feel like I nailed everything, but I feel I have a pretty good chance at passing. Still scoring in the 60's but its hard to compare because some sessions I'm only doing select topics. Today is mostly govt and I'll pick one or two sims.

    Let's do this!

I'm feeling ok. Absolutely stressed. Tax season is over, I have 3 children graduating from college next month. (May 5th and 12th) and I am no way ready for far. My daughter (one of three that is graduating) have tonsillitis, my husband is coming down with what ever is going around and I am counting the hairs falling in my sink…lol. Sorry to vent but I am not giving up, I don't believe I will pass but I am going to try. Monday is the day, my expectation is not to pass but move on to Reg. Yes, more money wasted, but maybe a better chance next time.

@tncicny – I completely understand. I hope your family gets better soon. At least tax season is over and you can make a good push over the next few days. REG will be a cake walk for you 🙂 The beauty of the score delay is that it forces us to move on to the next section. Hang in there 🙂

Ugh, I'm now doing worse so I think I need to break for the evening. I have about 45 min of audio to listen during my commute, then about 3 hours of studying. I'm going to dedicate half to MCQ's and 1.5hrs to SIMS (which I haven't looked at since my last attempt in early March).
Best wishes to all! Pray for me!

@Pam – Try not to stress. Sometimes you have to take a break so that you can refocus. I'll be trolling this forum tomorrow for an update from you. LOL! GOOD LUCK!!!!

Again, I appreciate all of the ninja support. I am hanging in there. My husband is sick now, meaning he is a BIG BABY. Every time I get him some tea and soup he needs something else. It's an adventure but I am determined to get my license! Hey, good luck again Pam and msquared17.

Lord, I hope his cold or flu don't last too long. 🙁
