    1st full week of studying for my retake. I jumped right into Ninja MCQ, and about half way done. My average score is 78-the topics I am weak on are no surpise. I started to re-write my own notes today, but that was so de-motivating, I didn’t get very far. Tomorrow I need to re-write my notes (they are disjointed from my first test, I want to re-write them by topic in a new notebook). I really need to re-read my Becker book on acquisitions, equity method, and non-monetary exchanges so far. My plan is to get through the rest of the Ninja MCQ by end of next week, and re-write the rest of my notes. I then plan on printing out Ninja notes (didn’t utilize last time) and then jump into SIMS, while re-doing the missed MCQ in Ninja and continue re-reading the book. How are others approaching their re-take?

    happy exam day to me! I don't know if I know that much more than I did a week ago but I'm trying to remain confident and just keep plugging away. Good luck to all taking today and the rest of Q2 (3…4… whatever). Let's do this!

    On the sims… I'm getting docked b/c my answers aren't in the right order… for example a book balance vs bank balance rec, I have the right total additions (for the right items) but they aren't in the order of the answer… how much should I be worried about this? I know it's because as I go back and check the answer i move stuff around but geesh

    I am done reviewing for tonight. Starting feel overwhelmed and thinking about last minute areas I need to touch on. My test is at 8am. I'll wake up early to review for an hour before the exam. Then its over!

    @Pam – how did it go?

    Good luck to you guys! I am in my last stages of review. Just tried a practice exam and it was terrible. I just stopped after the multiple choice. I need to clear my head and try and see if things get better over the weekend. Hopefully they will. I am doing non stop MC tomorrow and non stop Sims the next day. I am so sick of FAR!!! Lord I really hope I can pull through and pass this thing! I want my license and I want to enjoy my life!!

    That was the worst experience ever! This was definitely harder the second time around. The topics were also very different from the first time. There is no way I passed FAR. I actually ran out of time. It took me 2 hours to finish the MCQ's. The first SIM took me an hour. The last SIM was unbelievable. There were at least 5 docs to review on two of the three tabs. I only had 17 mins left and I spent 10 mins looking for the research answer. Which was exactly the same as last time. I'm so disappointed because I felt like I was more prepared this time around. Oh well, its over and now I can move on. The best advice I have is to study EVERYTHING.

    @tncincy – good luck tomorrow!

    As for me, I started REG today. I used to love tax. My plan is to open my own tax practice in the next year or two. I’m hoping this will make it easier for me to stay focused and get through this section.

    Good luck to those of you retaking FAR in this quarter.

    Sometimes people say review the hard hitting items , is it relative or some consensus is there what is hard hitting and what is hardly hitting ? Some says heavily tested , is it same as hard hitting items ?
    Some people say very straight forward that Govt and NFP are heavily tested .
    If there is consensus then can someone clarify the chapters or topics heavy hitting

    Tncincy-good luck! and msquared17-don't despair maybe a harder test will translate into a passing grade!

    satyakatiwal-I would make sure to know the topics listed as application and analysis in the blueprint. Gov't is historically heavily tested in the MCQ. I agree with msquared-know everything enough to pass

    Well, I'm not expecting a pass. I am a nervous wreck. All I can say is I'll see far again July. :-(. I think my plan is study all day and everyday. And make a better study plan and stick to it. My life is busy but maybe wasn't a good idea to tackle far during tax season. Again appreciate the Ninja's cheering for me. I'll get it done soon enough. Besides, I'm 53, I'm kinda gettin too old for the pressure….lol

    @tncincy Oh no 🙁

    My mind just went blank. I had so much stuff in my head. The mcq's did't seem to difficult, but my main problem was navigation.

    Well, I'm moving on to Reg. I guess I'll see you all there,(in the study group) those that are taking reg. Goal, much better planning, consistent study, Gleim was recommended for sims in REG. is that a go? does anyone know?
