1st full week of studying for my retake. I jumped right into Ninja MCQ, and about half way done. My average score is 78-the topics I am weak on are no surpise. I started to re-write my own notes today, but that was so de-motivating, I didn’t get very far. Tomorrow I need to re-write my notes (they are disjointed from my first test, I want to re-write them by topic in a new notebook). I really need to re-read my Becker book on acquisitions, equity method, and non-monetary exchanges so far. My plan is to get through the rest of the Ninja MCQ by end of next week, and re-write the rest of my notes. I then plan on printing out Ninja notes (didn’t utilize last time) and then jump into SIMS, while re-doing the missed MCQ in Ninja and continue re-reading the book. How are others approaching their re-take?

    @Apii
I have passed 3 exams only left one feeling “good” and even that good resulted in me drinking a full bottle of wine solo (I mean I was with someone but I literally drank it all then went to a salon and cut all my hair off)… haha, and even then it was only an 80. That's also the only exam I haven't taken more than 1x… so don't stress.
I'm studying FAR now, will be my THIRD attempt on 4/20 (the day REG expires so I NEED this like I need oxygen). I read on another thread about surgent being good, so I signed up for a 5 day free trial. I only have NINJA left for my studying as my Becker has expired and I'm PASSING this GD exam…
I most recently took the exam early March and your combo seems a lot like I had. I found my SIMS were out of control so once I've finished the 1500+ MCQs I'm moving onto SIMS (that's what I plan on doing the 2 days leading up to the exam and the morning of – if I can bear it). I just did 65 questions and it's so freaking draining.
Best wishes on FAR and yes, move onto REG so you don't lose a window

Ok so. I am in power mode for Far and I'd like to know how to move forward. I want to take Reg but should I pay for it now or wait until score release. I don't want to get too idol with study I tend to procrastinate too much. I think I am more of a crammer because I just can't hold it in my head for weeks at a time. what do you guys think? Pay now or wait?

I'm on the same page as you. Just have far and reg left. I'm scheduled to take far on April 27 and reg on June 6. I think you should pay sooner rather than later to keep your mind on the end goal of finishing this thing.

don't try to cover every small details. Blueprint is good and focus on key areas. Anxiety is normal. Practice and repetition are key. Don't kill yourself for not covering 100% of the material. try to work on being calm and whatnot.

SO GLAD I DID NOT HAVE TO DO A FAR RETAKE !!

GOOD LUCK GUYS AND GALS !!

@tncincy – I agree you should probably pay now if you're sitting in this window. When are you trying to take REG? I would love to take it June.

I would like to take it in June as well. But I was trying to stress over score release for Far. No need I guess, I would have to wait if I don't pass far anyway til after June.

@tncincy – how is FAR going? What's your FAR date again?

I'm finishing the leases lectures. On the verge of dropping it though (very boring ) and dive into mcq's. I still feel i'm going too slow, I know time is at hand. I'm thinking since I am on the crunch I can get more done. I hope this doesn't come back to bite me. I'm covering the materials but I just can't seem to retain it. 🙁 . I think I need to do many more mcq's each day/night as well. My far date is the 23rd. and tax season is coming to a close. Still open for suggestions.

@tncincy – just keep studying. You will be fine. I felt like I was making slow progress too just doing one topic at a time.

This week I'm going through one Becker chapter each night. Some nights are two based on topics already reviewed. Becker mcq (20-30) and at least one corresponding Sim from the blueprint. Then I will do 20 -30 Ninja corresponding mcq's. Each night I will also do 15-20 cumulative questions. This should really flush out the weak areas. Next week will be my final push to take the exam on 4/21. (fingers crossed)

@tncincy-good luck you are so close! every time I was nervous about doing the MCQ, I would remind myself that this is a learning experience-so just use it as such-even if you got them wrong, as long as you learned from them, you are good to go! Since you are now using Becker, I would utilize the skills practices and explanations for the final review. I found the leases one especially beneficial-Peter Olinto going through the JEs really helped! Finally, I would jump into REG right after you take FAR, no point in waiting an wasting time. Plus if you move onto REG studying, it will take your mind off FAR score release.

I might sound like a whinny baby, but I really appreciate the support and encouragement from this site. I am going to go for Reg after Far. I am pulling long hours. I feel better, imagine that.to pass this. I have a lot on my plate, but it's my time now. I have 3 children graduating from college in May. I was going to allow myself to belly ache and find a reason not to continue but thank God for a good night sleep. It's my time. :-). If I can get Far passed, I think I'll be OK. I really appreciate you guys, and good luck.

@tncincy – We are all in this together. I've been really close to giving up too. Work has been really stressful and I have to balance studying with family time. But I feel like I'm close to the finish line with FAR. I'm ready for this one to be over. I'm so looking forward to REG. I have a weird love for taxes. LOL

I scheduled my exam today for 4/21. I'm feeling good at the moment. I spent 3 hours this morning reviewing Becker F2. Much better than I thought it would go. Now on to F3.

At it again today. I am marking blue print today to arrange my study questions with it. (I hope that make sense). Some how but surely this will be a good study day.
