1st full week of studying for my retake. I jumped right into Ninja MCQ, and about half way done. My average score is 78-the topics I am weak on are no surpise. I started to re-write my own notes today, but that was so de-motivating, I didn’t get very far. Tomorrow I need to re-write my notes (they are disjointed from my first test, I want to re-write them by topic in a new notebook). I really need to re-read my Becker book on acquisitions, equity method, and non-monetary exchanges so far. My plan is to get through the rest of the Ninja MCQ by end of next week, and re-write the rest of my notes. I then plan on printing out Ninja notes (didn’t utilize last time) and then jump into SIMS, while re-doing the missed MCQ in Ninja and continue re-reading the book. How are others approaching their re-take?

    Good luck Sona!

    – Good plan for today. I've been taking a topic each day. So far I've done EPS, NFP, and CF. Today I'm doing cumulative questions and at least one Becker sim. I still need to hit Govt and Eqity.

    Happy studying!

Oh Lord, under TORNADO WARNINGS!!!, I guess I better get my flashlight, and take cover. I can read or re-write notes until the weather calm down. 🙁 What in the world. As soon as I am in a groove something always happen!

@tncincy – We are expecting storms today. I didn't think about losing power. I guess I better make sure the iPad is fully charged. LOL

@anytever – you need to update your signature with your passing FAR score. 🙂

As for me – I tried to pay for my exam on Monday but I'm not sure it went through. After I entered my payment information the screen returned to the home page. The candidate portal still shows it as outstanding. I called NASBA and they assured me it went through and give it a couple of days. I was planning to take the exam on 4/10 or at least by the 14th. Although I'm making a lot of progress, I don't know that I will be ready by then. My new study approach seems to be working really well for me. This test WILL happen during the month of April. LOL

Oh wow, what a night. We survived with no damage, some did not have lights for a while, but my home was spared (Thank the Living God). A few limbs from trees and brush blown around but my community was spared.
So It's back to studying. I am feeling anxious again. I feel I am going too slow with the materials so I am going to change up and go to the mcq's and go back to the materials if I need to. (19 days, I am scarred to death 🙁 ).

@tncincy – glad you made it through the storm. Don't think about the test date for now. Jus keep studying and moving forward. Stressing about the date will slow you down mentally.

I just took my first mock exam. Made the mistake of sitting at the kitchen table and got all kinds of interrupted. LOL! I wasn't completely focused to begin with. I just wanted a baseline. I ended up with 46% on mcq and I totally skipped the sims. My brain was feeling like mush. I was shocked that I couldn't answer many of the questions because they were worded differently. This lets me know that I don't really know the concepts as well as I should. I did score high in F8(EPS, CF, NFP) section and F5 (Liabilites). I've been working on the F8 topics and it has the highest score. That's proof that my new approach is working.

Well, I'm taking a few hours off to energize and refocus. I will start tackling one topic at time later this evening.

@msquared17 Thanks for the encouragement. I can't help but think about the date and how much I don't know. Point taken though.

@Amor: Hey sounds like you were ready and hope it's a pass on score release. I am not leaving out sims, going to study every thing. I might look like a zombie when this is over but determined to get it done.

@Tncincy, yes it was a pass (barely) during the score release on 3/20.

I say it was for a SAVING GRACE I got a 76 in FAR.

I’m really convinced as many believe: If we follow the Becker program, we’ll more likely pass.
