    1st full week of studying for my retake. I jumped right into Ninja MCQ, and about half way done. My average score is 78-the topics I am weak on are no surpise. I started to re-write my own notes today, but that was so de-motivating, I didn’t get very far. Tomorrow I need to re-write my notes (they are disjointed from my first test, I want to re-write them by topic in a new notebook). I really need to re-read my Becker book on acquisitions, equity method, and non-monetary exchanges so far. My plan is to get through the rest of the Ninja MCQ by end of next week, and re-write the rest of my notes. I then plan on printing out Ninja notes (didn’t utilize last time) and then jump into SIMS, while re-doing the missed MCQ in Ninja and continue re-reading the book. How are others approaching their re-take?

    Two weeks into my FAR re-take studying..Through all of Ninja MCQ other than government and NFP. with an average score of 77….Time to hit the Becker book and take some notes! Plan for next week is to finish the Ninja MCQ-government and NFP, finish taking notes and jump into SIMS….

    @anyatver Are you planning on or have you already taken any practice exams? I have been cracking away at Becker and Wiley MCQ and did practice exams yesterday and today. Trying to keep all of this fresh and straight is quite a challenge, ha! Keep on keepin' on!

    Yes- lets keep this thread going.

    I'm 2 weeks in and already a week behind. I must admit that I like the live online format. The instructor has been awesome. I have to admit that I fell a little behind because I knew I would have time to catch up before class on Thursday (no class tomorrow b/c of the holiday). However, that's not the approach I want to take this go around. So here I am today plowing through F2 and fighting a sinus headache. I'm off tomorrow and will tackle F3. Tuesday – cumulative review and progress test. Wednesday I will start F4.

    @Right Brained Accountant-do you mean progress tests or the mock exams? I think that I will do progress tests in Becker once I have gone through all of Ninja including “Missed since last time seen” and will alternate between the two. I want to be able to do both mock exams as well. Even though I did really well on those when I took it the first time, which really meant nothing:)
    Is anyone utilizing Ninja on their retake or just sticking with Becker again? I have only been using Becker book to note take so far. Today I lasted for an hour before taking an 1.5 nap, oh well.. 🙂

    @anyatver Naps are a must! Gotta keep the body and mind healthy to perform well. I was referencing the mock exams; I've honed in on my weaker Becker chapters and keep hitting them with progress tests while doing random sets of MCQ with Wiley. Don't want to rely to heavily on the mock exam score, just grateful to be seeing an upward trend with my MCQ sets.

    @Rigth Brained Accountant-have you been doing the SIMS? That's where I think I have to step up my game….

    #1693069

    @anyatver I haven't been too focused on them, with the plan being to tackle them these last few days before the exam/after the mock exams while knowing where my weak areas are; even if I can't complete them all, I am hoping the exposure will reinforce the material in a different way and I can do more concentrated work where needed. How did you feel doing the SIMS on the actual exam?

    @Right Brained Accountant-the SIMS on the exam appeared to be ok, but there was one where the subject matter was easy and one I know well (can't reveal what it is) and I am sure I failed because of that SIM because there were so many documents that after spending an hour on it, I decided to plug the difference and cut my losses….Lots of DRS…. SIMS suck:) LOL When is your test?

    #1693249

    @anyatver – I hear you on that, SIMS most definitely suck, lol. I had a similar experience with time management on mine as well. Exam is Thursday… trying to trust myself. Eep!

    I hope everyone is staying on track. I'm so far behind on studying that I will need to take a day off work just to catch up. I was in bed sick Sunday and Monday with a migraine. I still have a slight headache and have no motivation to study again tonight. I think I will focus on the MCQ and catch up on the skills practice as time allows.

    Happy studying 🙂

    I am getting 69-70% on ninja mcq.
    How you guys doing on Ninja ?
    @RightBrain are you following Blueprint?

    @satyakatiwal-My average is 77%…I think my lowest section was in the 60s. I know which ones they are-non-monetary exchanges, bonds, leases, etc. Just stuff I forgot…I am going to revisit all the ones I got wrong once I am done taking notes in the Becker book. It's going very slowly….
    @msquared17-I feel like I am behind, but if I get through all my note taking and first pass-through at government accounting, I will be ok. 3 weeks for SIMS and redoing all the MCQ to get to fighting shape is hopefully enough!

    Thanks @anyatver! Keep gettin' after it – you've got a solid plan and will rock the exam next month!

    @satyakatiwal
    I am reviewing the blueprint to make sure there aren't any large holes from passage of time – anything I think I need refreshing on I am going back for crash review.

    Almost through the for-profit section of Becker-kind of excited to stop taking notes for a bit and do 278 governmental accounting MCQs over the next 3 days (yuk!) Did anyone else think that the change in NFP to with and without donor restrictions actually makes a lot more sense and makes it much easier?
