1st full week of studying for my retake. I jumped right into Ninja MCQ, and about half way done. My average score is 78-the topics I am weak on are no surpise. I started to re-write my own notes today, but that was so de-motivating, I didn’t get very far. Tomorrow I need to re-write my notes (they are disjointed from my first test, I want to re-write them by topic in a new notebook). I really need to re-read my Becker book on acquisitions, equity method, and non-monetary exchanges so far. My plan is to get through the rest of the Ninja MCQ by end of next week, and re-write the rest of my notes. I then plan on printing out Ninja notes (didn’t utilize last time) and then jump into SIMS, while re-doing the missed MCQ in Ninja and continue re-reading the book. How are others approaching their re-take?

I am praying for @anyatver to pass and hope tomorrow she will write a post how to go from 69 to 84 in FAR .She will also write how many MCQ she flagged, how many SIMs and relevant percentage she did in exam . This will inspire and give confidence to others .
Somehow I am feeling you will step into 80s. All the best Anyatver.

You guys! Pass with an 81! I can't believe it-hoped for it, but didn't want to get my hopes up….@Satya-you pretty much called it! Study our SIMS folks, use the blueprint, it really worked for me! Good luck to all others getting their scores today! And good luck to all of you still in the troughs of studying! Keep it up-it can be done!!! Thank you all for coming to this thread and making it my lifeline! 🙂

@anyatver , I am so happy for you , my exam is tomorrow. I chickened n rescheduled many times. Just few questions, do you recall how many SIMS u did 100% n how many u did partially? Similarly how many mcq you flagged? I am asking because somehow I am not able to move on with MCQ or any SIM and end up falling. You are inspiration.

@Tncincy-best of luck on your retake-keep going you will get there!
@Big4BeanCounter-waiting is the worst, I couldn't sleep last night, had to look at 3am:) LOL
@jiantang-that really stinks! You were really close-maybe see what your score report says and try to hammer the weak areas… what review course did you use? I would take enough time for the re-take that would ensure or at least get you as close to a pass as possible. Good luck!

I will be checking in periodically here-this forums is everything!

oh @Satyakatiwal-I thought I got at least half of them well. I was majorly not sure on one of them, and knew I had partial credit on others. MCQ were doable, i normally fly through them…I can't remember how much time each testlet took. I know I walked in at 11:45 and came out at 3:45….

@anyatver- I used Becker and Ninja audio for my FAR exam. I am considering switch over to Roger just so I can get some fresh study materials since I have till June to retake it

Passed FAR last night, I am happy to say. I've now finished all of my exams and come to the end of my three and a half year CPA journey. Two years of night classes four nights a week followed by 18 months of studying sure has taken a toll on me. I wish I could say smooth sailing lays in front of me, but at the very least I have wrapped up this chapter in my life. I had my supervisor sign off on my qualifying work experience first thing this morning and I personally walked my application down to the state board of accountancy office to hand it over. I was told it should be 30-60 days and this will be a done deal. I'll be a bonafide CPA.

Thanks for all who post on this forum. I mostly lurked but did take advantage of Q&A posed and answered on the board. Looking back on things, I'd love to tell you this whole process is worth it, but I can't just yet and, at this point, I don't particularly care. I think that's mostly the mental exhaustion talking from the past 6 months of intense studying and test-taking, but I can say with a certainty that it feels so great to be on this side of things. So long, and best of luck to all who continue to pursue the license. Tell yourself whatever you need to keep going. It's worth the feeling at the end. That much I can promise.

@jiantang25-I would do monthly Ninja MCQ. I supplemented with Ninja for all my sections-it's excellent. Becker SIMS are enough to pass FAR and Ninja MCQ will give you that extra boost.

@Ukelele-congrats on the end of this journey! I haven't done much about the application quite yet, but look forward to doing that! This wraps up a 5 year journey for me as well…:)

Headed to get back to studying, I have such a euphoric feeling for those that passed. I really want to get this done. I am so tired of being stuck with no passes.
