    1st full week of studying for my retake. I jumped right into Ninja MCQ, and about half way done. My average score is 78-the topics I am weak on are no surpise. I started to re-write my own notes today, but that was so de-motivating, I didn’t get very far. Tomorrow I need to re-write my notes (they are disjointed from my first test, I want to re-write them by topic in a new notebook). I really need to re-read my Becker book on acquisitions, equity method, and non-monetary exchanges so far. My plan is to get through the rest of the Ninja MCQ by end of next week, and re-write the rest of my notes. I then plan on printing out Ninja notes (didn’t utilize last time) and then jump into SIMS, while re-doing the missed MCQ in Ninja and continue re-reading the book. How are others approaching their re-take?

    Wow, I was looking for the trick or was something missing. It was too simple in my mind reading the question, but seeing the entry I guess so. Good job SchruteBeet 🙂

    Hey fellow FAR re-takers! I have returned from a grueling study sesh with Gleim TB, ugh.. people were right about making you curse on your laptop when you do MCQs with Gleim, ha!

    I decided to hop into gov't since it was one of the things I pretty much ignored (therefore the weak performance note), and realized I did miss a couple of important facts in gov't. Shoutout to Gleim for organizing gov't section very well!

    I hope you folks are making great progress, for those about to re-take it soon, knock it dead~

    Hello fellow FAR re-takers. I'm feeling pretty motivated to finish F8 today. I need to review the lectures, write notes, and mcq's for F3-F8. I already wrote the notes for F3 and F4 before I realized there were a few changes (still using V3.0). The changes didn't look major so I'm hoping I will only need to make minor updates to my notes. My next step is to review notes and a short progress test for F1-F4 tonight and then the same for F4-F8 tomorrow. I think I will purchase Ninja today to use as part of my review. Hope everyone is hanging in there.

    @j
    king – I had the same experience. I realized also missed a lot my first time through as well. I was no where near prepared when I took the test in Dec.

    I'm in msquared17, I am working my schedule and trying to stay on track. I did not reschedule to procrastinate. I am not under pressure so I can study and let it all soak in. (memo to myself).

    @tncincy – that's too funny

    Feeling Accomplished! I finished F1 – F8. By finished I mean:lectures, write notes, and mcq's and some skills practice. Now on to my quick review before starting governmental. My plan is to break it up into two sessions (F1-F4 and F5-F8).

    1. review my notes
    2. 40 question progress test
    3. Update my notes for any wrong answers

    Depending on time I might rewrite my notes. I'm not sure how or when to incorporate Ninja. Should I wait until I'm ready for final review? I was thinking that if I purchased it now, I could read the Ninja notes while I'm traveling.

    Any suggestions from those who use both?

    Not a bad idea. I think the notes help me focus. When I get tired or feeling unmotivated, I write my ninja notes.

    Hey Guys need some suggestion / advice / tips.

    I have just completed Roger's last chapter, Started studying FAR retake (2016 May first attempt) on 22nd Jan 2018. IMO I understood all the chapters, however I did mixed MCQs couple of times here and there for the chapters I have done. Now my fear is my exam is on 3/9/2018 and 5 days remaining for the exam review, will I be able to catch-up? I am not sure yet what are my weak areas? I wish, I had 2 weeks for review, but useless to say.

    What should I do, Shall i repeat Roger's MCQs & SIMS, or shall I jump into NINJA MCQs and SIMS?

    Has anyone here passed only with Roger's. I can extend the date but I feel like better give it a shot right now than later, becoz my REG expiring 4/14, also I have to give AUD before that. So if I miss this time in FAR I would know exactly where to focus when retaking it in april.

    Please suggest me the best way to wrap all material in 5 days.

    @Sona – I think you should just keep doing MCQ's until you can't see straight. 🙂 You were very close the last time. I think you'll do fine.

    As for me – I didn't completely stick with my review plan, but that's ok. I reviewed some of my notes and most all of the Ninja notes yesterday. This morning I decided to just go for the progress test. I got 50% for F1-F4. Not too bad considering how long its been since I've looked at those chapters. So today I will review the wrong answers and probably adjust and rewrite my notes. Depending on time I will either take another progress test or move on to review F5-F8.

    Keep trucking along everyone. April will be here before we know it.

    I'm going back over chapters as well see that I didn't fully read them before. I don't think I'm quite ready for mcq's yet,but I am working toward that goal. making sure I cover the materials well then going on to mcq's .

    Good luck to those waiting on score release 🙂

    I just started studying for my 6th retake of FAR. 68, 70, 71, 73, 73. It's doesn't get much worse.

    My weakness in the last two attempts was SIMS so I got the Surgent Course. I'm going through the MCQ, many are similar to NINJA. I think once I get 50% there they introduce SIMS. I'm hoping these SIMS are more like the actual exam- who knows.
    I passed AUD and BEC on the first try and I'll find out this week if I passed my REG retake.
    I'm exhausted!

    OMG Rachel-this is a nightmare scenario but you have been so close on the last two retakes! I strongly recommend going through the FAR SIMS straight from AICPA blueprint thread here somewhere on the forum-I think it really hones in on the topics that could be in SIMS. SIMS are the key here I think… Good luck!!!! I hope the score release for REG goes well for you!
