weneedrealtimescores – if it is a matter of an “ethical issue” then it would apply to anyone, including people who are waiting on the last part – and not just candidates that are checking for any part that they have taken. Also, because it is not clear whether this works for candidates who are not on their last part, it is not providing them with any solid information – hence we are not really getting any information out of this. Lastly – I don't see how it could be an ethical issue at all as it is purely checking if we passed an exam we have already studied for and taken which we are awarded a pass/fail based on our efforts/results. Us possibly knowing a few hours before the actual release of the grade (or thinking that we know), does not impact the turn of events for anything else (i.e. other candidates).

glogo – I'm sorry to hear the news. At least you're really close and it's your last part. Good luck with studying!

    hang in there glogo!

So it is ethical to try to reapply to a state you are not in and tie up there limited internet resources…..some would consider this a primative form of hacking?????

I for one am happy to be in the great state of Texas which not Nasba so I am immune from this crap……..but I wonder if it would work at a state level……..

I see nothing wrong with try to reapply early in your own state just don't mess with other ppl's resources……..

Don't shoot the messenger Ms_x, I'm just restating what I have read on this thread. I couldn't care less about the loophole. Someone asked a question so I tried to be honest about it. Its all open to interpretation so far.

    MASS - BEC 79, AUD 75, REG 80, FAR 71 FEB'10, FAR 71 JUN'10, FAR NOV'10 77 and I'm spent...

we'll that is the ethical rational I am using to show my suppory against it and I hope more ppl see it my way in the future

b/c if everyone tries it will create a bottle neck of unnessary traffic on their site which could result in the same manner as a DSA to their people

    just saying

So I just found out that I failed FAR pretty miserably. I had a bad feeling when I left the exam but I was hopeful that I had a chance. I took the NIU CPA Review course, studied every single topic and listened to every since lecture. I made notecards for some (not all) topics and worked questions as I went along. I felt like when I was taking the exam, I had a general idea about every topic but didn't know enough of the details. I think my major mistake was not working enough questions outside of revewing a topic and then answering the questions right away on those topics. It wasn't until the day before the exam that I took a practice exam with a broad range of topics. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to study FAR again for the second time? I have the Gleim software and NIU quizzes and materials. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Just want to mention that what helped me the most: I used becker.. I did the lectures, read the material, did the hw a few times and failed the first time, quite badly. This past time I didnt even waste time with the reading or lectures. I did the homework over and over and over. If I got a question wrong, I would write the entire answer Becker provided including the reasoning as to why it was wrong, etc. This was a very effective study technique for me. I wish I had done it for FAR the first time and I surely would have passed. I did this for about 8 days straight, 10 hours a day and tested on the 9th day.

Stacey, I've been successful with Becker. I went to their live classes, went back and reviewed the textbook (note: didn't read in detail), went back and reviewed video lectures where things were fuzzy, then worked homework problems and moved through the chapters repeating this process. At the end I did the simulations and practice exams and finally had someone quiz me with the becker flashcards so I had to recite the answers not just look at them. It was a tedious process, but I just got my 81 first time through. So far I'm 3 for 3, so this process seems to work. Hang in there don't lose the faith.

As to the supposed loophole. I am still waiting for both my AUD and FAR scores to be released via NASBA. I have been trying the OH thing and every time it has popped up a message saying that some or all sections had been attended but scores have not been received. Well I tried today and now in seems to be allowing me to register for the exam. We shall see what it really means.

Thank you so much for the advice tmccarron and catch.

My failure strategy sounds a lot like your first attempt at FAR tmccarron. I definitely did not feel comfortable with the practice questions so I think I'm going to make that a major part of my next (and hopefully final) attempt at FAR. I'm also not a visual learner and have a hard time with memorization so I know I need to go over the topics I'm unfamilar with over and over and over!
