Texas sure is out! I passed with a 75 which is good enough for me. Apparently I did well on my communications and I will admit that they took forever.

Anyone find that they scored worse on their Becker final exam than the real exam? I never hit 75 on a single section of the Becker final exam.

I was/am in busy season, raising a newborn with my wife, and was trying to squeeze FAR in. It was the month from hell. Somehow I got a 79! AND TIME RAN OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SECOND SIM. I am so thankful, but wanted to know if anyone else did worse on their Becker final exam.

    Jamie,

I have heard from several candidates that becker tends to be a little harder than the actual tests in terms of question complexity. My feeling after having passed two sections (including gettting my FAR results yesterday) is that I have scored about 10 points higher on the exams than I scored on the final exams for Becker.

Thanks makeithappen. For AUD I knew I was ready. I was able to give 2 weeks of 4-5 hours a day for studying. When I got to the AUD final exam I got all in the 90's so I knew I was ready. FAR was the complete opposite. New job, busy season and new baby definitely limited available study time. I did not have enough time to cover all chapters in Becker's huge book and was mainly focusing on questions. When I got to that final exam and scored in the 60s and 70s, I thought I was doomed.

    Jamie,

When I took the Becker final exam, I never did better than the mid 60's, so if you can do well on that you are well prepared.

I didn't do well on the Becker final exam either, scoring at the highest a 76 on one of the testlets. The others were in the mid-60s. I was very surprised when I saw my exam score this morning. I didn't even worry myself last night checking the score because I thought for sure I was going to be a few points shy of 75. I was shocked to see a 93 this morning!

For those of you that didn't pass, I think it's best to focus on working multiple choice. My firm purchased Becker for me and I love the books, but the lectures aren't very good and I don't even watch them all. Work as many questions as you can. A friend asked me if he should buy Becker the other day and I told him I thought the best thing to do is find some old Becker books to use in reviewing the material and buy a Wiley or Bisk book for the questions. Then read the Becker materials and work as many questions as you can find.

Good luck to everyone still working on the exam.

chal, yes, you should get a congratulations letter. My state said to expect it by May 25 if you finished this window (I think this was info I picked up on the state board of accountancy site but am not positive about that.)

I think you have to have that letter before you can apply for your license (presuming you have met the experience requirements for your state), but I'm not sure. I'd head over to your state board of accountancy's web site and check out the licensing procedures.

Congrats Passers. I didn't make this one, 71. But I'm 1 for 2 and AUD is in about a week, then I have REG on 5/5.

My question is, should I take advantage of the May window and retake far with only 3.5 weeks for a review? I know my weak areas and I have a very pregnant wife who works full time as well and we already have two in diapers so I'm not too keen on taking another 8 weeks to prepare for a July exam, especially since the baby is due close to that time.

    Any advice?

I would do my darndest to retake it in May. We had a baby in the middle of my FAR studying, and I had only given myself barely over a month to prepare. If I can do it while not sleeping and working 11-12 hour days, then you can do it.

Thats what I'm thinking. The sooner I take it the sooner it will be over. I know where I need to focus. Thanks!

Also, I think failure on at least one of these sections is a right of passage, no?
