My experience yesterday was pretty much the same as CPAWannabe's. I finished the exam with 30 seconds left. I had about 1 hour and 50 minutes for the sims. I don't recommend doing the MCs quickly, but rather read them carefully, mark some for review if you need to, but only look at them quickly and make a decision when you go back to review them again. Don't dwell on them. I think I spent a little bit too much time on them because I was so focused on getting them all answered correctly that I started to panic right before starting the sims because I didn't leave as much time for them as I wanted to.

I used Becker and did the practice exams on the data CDs and scored in the 80s. I recommend doing them if use Becker because they are very similar to the actual exam.

I just sat for it today and finished with a minute and a half..I have no idea how I did..MCQ didn't seem to get harder (though I was equally confused on all of them) which is a terrible sign, the first sim was really easy and the second was mediocre, nothing crazy like I saw in REG. I just hope I passed…I really hate the adaptive testing, it messes with your mind, the whole time I'm worrying about if these questions are as hard as they should be and why I'm still not getting them.

Thanks everyone for the helpful hints and telling us how your exams went.

So sounds like we should do all the MCQ's timely so we have enough time left for the sims. The Sims are, what, 30% of our overall scores right? So we need to make sure we do well on the MCQ though.

I was just wondering if anyone has had any success with the Gleim books. I am currently using it for FAR which is my last test. I used Becker last time, but my software license ran out.

    FAR 73 02/09 ??? 02/10 AUD 68 04/09 80 11/09 BEC 72 04/09 78 10/09 REG 80 05/09

Jshells, I am using Gleim too for FAR simply because it is cheap. I don't know exactly how good it is. I used it last window and failed but I must say I didn't use the software. I skimmed through the questions. This time I plan to thoroughly review all 1900 questions.

I am finding the Gleim questions are worded different from the actual Exam….I have Wiley, Yeager, and I bought Gleim this window…

One of my co-workers used Gliem to take FAR, but she didn't pass. She said she understands the materal better than Becker which she is using now. Three other co-workers used Becker and passed the first time. I'm going to use Becker for the exam and hope I can do the same! 🙂

    ADVICE NEEDED:

I am taking REG tomorrow (for the second time after a 74 the first time…) I plan to begin studying for FAR on Monday (1/18). I am scheduled to take the exam on 2/26… That's a little less than 6 weeks between when I begin studying and when I take the exam…

    I am using Becker

I plan on studying for 6-8 hours a day (30-40 hours/week)… do you guys think this is going to be sufficient time to prepare?

I would love it if I managed to pull off passing both these tests in the same window…

Thanks for you help in advance!

    ? AUD - 87 (8/12/09)
    ? REG - 77 (1/15/10
    ? BEC - 77 (1/6/09 - Expired) / 79 (11/18/10)
    ? FAR - 75 (2/11/11)

glogo2384, I am taking FAR on 2/1 and then plan to immediately begin studying for REG, which I am taking on 2/27. I will be studying 8 – 10 hours per day. I took BEC (11/28/09) and AUD (11/25/09) and passed both parts. So, I'm like you, 2 Down and 2 More to Go!!!!!

I would think that's enough if you 6-8 hours a night. I am scheduled to take FAR on Feb 26th as well and just started studying (sort of) Monday. I put together a study plan and there's enough time to get through all the chapters and do plenty of review if I stick to it. But I'm only able to study maybe 2-3hrs a day if I'm lucky.

I have faith in you! Stick to your plan and you'll pass both 🙂

Other than the want to pass… how do you guys stay motivated and focused to study that many hours a day? I'm desperately trying to study even just an hour. I am beyond ready to be done with the exam but I just can't seem to put in all the time necessary.
