Hi
For those who failed by scoring 74 or less. I have a suggestion that never think that what was your grade. Attach your preparation with preparation before exam., and take this result as a simple attempt.
On Oct 5, 2009, I was giving my FAR exam., In MCQs, I found that all three sections were not difficult and just felt that their difficulty was increasing with each section and that was within my reach due to my good preparation for this exam. I was relaxed that I would pass the exam., But I failed it due to my poor planning or expectaions about simulations, my thinking was that I will have many tabs for one case study (as I found in wiley book). I found mini cases in simulations and lost due to this change. I got 74 and found from my performance report that I performed in all areas comparable or much better than passing candidates but due to poor performance in communication and simulation parts, I failed it.
I was fully hurt by these 74. Second time, I found that second exam was different in approach as compared to first one. I finished first section in 20 minutes. second in 35 minutes and third was so difficult that I finished in 65 minutes. I could able to improve my performance in communication and simulation parts and passed FAR by scoring 75. I did not feel that I had any advantage in my second attempt due to first attempt but I had idea of mini cases now and this idea gave me 75.
I know that practically, it is very difficult to attach yourself with pre-exam preparation. I will advise that do not attach your future preparation with 74 or other marks, when you will obtain the performance report, review it carefully. You need to improve your weaknesses and have to atleast keep your strengths for passing this beast
