Claire and Pursuit. I took far in Oct and failed with a 67, I retook the Becker class and took the exam in the beginning of Feb and got a 79. I think retaking it will really help. I also wrote everything down on legal pads and read it while I ran on the treadmill. I definitely got alot more out of the Becker course the second time around. Good luck and if I can pass anyone can 🙂

I'm retaking FAR in the next window. As far as I know, the only restriction is you can't take a section twice in one window.

FAR 71 (retake 4/5/10), AUD (3/5/10), BEC (5/28/10), and REG TBA

Don't waste your money on getting it reviewed! They will gladly take your money but will not change your score. Jeff has something about it on his webite.

ok.. thanks everyone for the information, So i better take the exam, heard that they charge $200 for review, which is almost equivalent to retaking you exam and chances are minimal. my testing window expires in March. so can i reapply and retake in April?

When I took BEC in Nov I got a 74 and considered having it reviewed. Even on the site it tells you it's practically useless and it takes SO long to get it reviewed plus the fee I was better off just paying to retake it. So I did… took it in Jan and just got a 78. SUCKS to get a 74 :'( but I say too to just retake it. Yep, reschedule it now and you can take it again in April. Just can't take an exam twice in a window.

Claire – I read your post and my heart goes out to you! I have to thank you for your honestly about the grey hairs and the 10 lbs. I think I'm approaching the 10 lb mark now as well. I'm laying in my bed at 10 am, having told myself this is my last weekend of no studying and that I'm going to take the time to get my life organized before I start studying for BEC next week. But, here I am living in isolation reading this blog – it's like my whole life is dedicated to this exam. I have FAR and REG under my belt now, and take BEC and AUD next window. I have to get my life back… Ok, that's it – no more reading the blog and going to go clean my apartment, exercise, and go to the grocery store!

Lots of ups and downs in this thread. Congrats to those who passed and good luck to those who didn't. I feel for you. I just took FAR on Friday, wow. It really came down to the wire time wise. I was so vigilant about the time but I ended up spending 65 minutes on the 1st sim and only had 25 minutes for the 2nd, but I managed to answer everything. Its gonna be a long wait

My Becker books say the exam is 4.5 hours but it really was only 4 hours, whats up with that?

    MASS - BEC 79, AUD 75, REG 80, FAR 71 FEB'10, FAR 71 JUN'10, FAR NOV'10 77 and I'm spent...

For all of you that have experienced 74s before… stay strong, don't quit. I've gotten 2 (BEC & REG) before, don't let it beat you. Spit on them with your 77s.

    ? AUD - 87 (8/12/09)
    ? REG - 77 (1/15/10
    ? BEC - 77 (1/6/09 - Expired) / 79 (11/18/10)
    ? FAR - 75 (2/11/11)

    it is 4 hours

I answered everything too, sims were the easiest I ever seen in FAR. I am stumped how I can really improve and move on from here.

When I first started studying for FAR, I thought there was no way I would pass the first time. It was just too much, but after my test I felt like I had OVER-prepared!

Sure there were tabs that I had no clue whatsoever and guessed (barely covered topics in Becker) but some I knew well. The real clincher for me is that I had a simulation tab that I was very knowledgeable on and got to the final few cells and it wouldn't allow me to put in the correct answer; it kept rounding up the decimal ~ wrong! I reported it and it is under “investigation”.

PursuitCPA, when do you plan to retake?

Thanks to all for the encouragement and thoughts! I am feeling much better today… although a tad hungover. I am going to get right to it and start studying tomorrow!
