Well…I had an issue with FAR when I took it. The Prometric computer lost its network connection when I got to the first sim. While they were fixing it, the clock continued to run and I couln't finish. I filed a grievance with NASBA, AICPA and Prometric. They allowed me to retest and I did so 4 weeks later. What I can tell you is the tests were night and day. Subject matter tested on the first exam wasn't touched on the 2nd and vice versa. I am pretty sure between the 2 I saw most everything. That said, it is impossible to tell you what you will see. Just take it easy and learn the concepts. Many, many multiple choice will serve you well. Be ready for anything but don't let the test mess with you. If you can't answer a question, move on to the next and come back to it. I would leave 45 minutes for each sim at a minimum. Time management is the key because you will find yourself out of time if you bog down in a particular spot. The stress from a clock winding down will hurt your concentration. I followed this methodology and finished my second FAR with 3 minutes to spare. For me, prayer was important…it got my head in a good place.

Just got an update dated 2/4/2010 from Becker stating, “There is no longer any guarantee that the examiners will not use simulations to test governmental and not for profit topics.” OMG!!! I am sitting for FAR on 12/27!!! Please tell me there is a very small chance this will happen for me. I am in full panic mode right now. I have been studying since November for FAR and it's been so long that I don't think I remember what I've studied. Reviewing this next week will be key and will use your “old school” reviewing method. Just hope I can get through all the questions by next week.

So wave one is expected to be released on Friday. Assuming they do, will the scores be on the site friday night? or will they go up the following monday?

*IF* I am in Wave 1, I'll expect the AICPA releases FAR to NASBA Monday. I'm expecting to see my score Tuesday. FAR is usually the last one and they certainly won't do anything over the weekend 🙁

Let me get this straight. You took alllllllllll of the mc questions then the system broke down on your sims. But you had to do the whoooollllleeeee thing over. That so does not seem fair. Did they at least let you know how you fared on the mcq's?????

Did you happen to be testing at the Birmingham, AL location? I went to take FAR at noon on the last Saturday last window and we were not allowed to take it because that happened. Two people were taking theirs and sims wouldnt load so we were not allowed to even try. My NTS ran out on Jan 14 and noone would extend it so I had to take audit and FAR within 8 days of eachother. Sometimes technology sucks.

The last couple of times I took my test in Birmingham, the fingerprint machine didn't work.

I just completed all the lectures in Becker for my FAR prep. I have 1-week to review now…

I'm worried however as I answered 608 of the 1354 MC (45%) in the software correct on my first time through…

I am going to work the Final Review along with all the MC again and SIMs, and see what happens. If I have time, I may try to work the questions on cpareviewforfree.com

Am I a lost cause? Do I stand a chance… I feel so defeated with the 45% mark and 1 week to go.

Good luck for anyone receiving scores this week… I am anxiously awaiting my REG score (second time taking it after a 74).

Glogo….be positive and stay focused. I have heard people say before that the Becker questions are somewhat harder than the actual exam questions. Maybe you should go over the ones you got wrong first and if you have time you can review the questions you got right. You can do this! We still have a week left!
