    @dixichic

    I did self study with Wiley so I didn't have any lectures. I did the following when preparing for all the exams:

    1. Read the text and took notes for the module.

    2. Did the problems in the text in homework mode i.e. I tried to answer them on my own but referred to the book when I needed to. I didn't just read the answer if I had to use the text; I wrote it out and made sure I understood each step.

    3. Read thru the answers (both right and wrong) of the questions I missed and the ones that I'd been unsure about.

    4. Made brief notes of my weak areas and stupid mistakes that I made on a regular basis.

    5. Moved on to the next module. I tried to grasp all the topics in a module but didn't worry if there were some more areas that I didn't grasp that well. It was amazing how much more sense some of the topics made during my final review.

    6. During my final review I read my notes for each module, did the test bank problems for that module, and did additional work on my weak areas if necessary. After I'd finished going thru the modules I did as many sample tests as I had time for before the exam.

    I was doing this on a pretty compressed schedule so I didn't have a problem remembering the stuff I'd studied earlier. However, there's so much material in FAR that I think it would be useful for most people to do some problems or read notes from sections previously covered – maybe spend 2-3 hours per week doing this. That way you don't have to relearn the earlier material when doing your review.

    Good luck.

    Is it worthwhile to look at cpareviewforfree.com FAR multiple choice? I am looking over them now and finding I am getting a ton wrong and its discouraging. Are these similar to the exams? I am using becker and these questions seem much harder and don't seem that similar to my review course.

    I've wondered the same thing. I really can't get a damn question right on the site.. im going to STAY away for FAR..

    It was great for BEC and AUD though

    @Happen4reason

    I remember checking that site out before I took FAR and found the questions to be pretty confusing. Some of the material was also not covered at all in Becker so I decided not to rely on that site too much.

    Thanks! That is kinda what I am figuring out. I used it for BEC and REG (tax only) and thought it was good additional questions, but its not really helping me with FAR.

    Is Peter Olinto lying to me when he says I'm going to enjoy F7 and that cash flow is going to be a piece of cake???

    Hey guys, Im freaking out about FAR as most people do haha. I took AUD as my first section and luckily just got my score and passed. I have been studying for FAR for about 2 months. I went through all the sections in BECKER once and am now going through them a second time. I am only scoring around 75% average on the second time around and my exam is in 2 weeks. Going into AUD I felt like I was good to go, but with FAR I dont feel the same way. I am considering pushing back the exam one more week for review. What do you guys think? Do you guys have any advice? Thanks!

    @bronzy

    I found F7 to be a breath of fresh air after some of the previous sections. The cash flow mnemonics provided by Becker were very helpful and the material seemed to be much simpler than the really tough FAR material such as bonds, pensions, deferred taxes, etc.

    Since I only had a 2010 Becker book, I used the Wiley 2011 FAR book for IFRS. They have a few paragraphs at the end of every module that discusses IFRS (compare/contrast w/ GAAP). They don't necessarily put it all in the Wiley MC questions, so it's up to you to read through, memorize, and apply.

    For Gov't / NFP, I thought the Becker text was better / more clear than Wiley's. I have no prior experience with Gov't / NFP and I thought Becker's was pretty good. I used the Becker flashcards for Gov't / NFP as well. I didn't listen to any FAR lectures or do any Becker simulations so I don't really know about those.

    to people who have passed or are studying for FAR- what study tools did you use for IFRS? I only used Becker on my last round and got a 72 so I was looking for something to add to that. same thing for the government/not for profit.

    Thanks!
