No! You are smart taking FAR first. Most would agree it is the most difficult to study for. Get it out of the way before that 18 month clock starts ticking.

I am going to get through bonds this week for sure. I remember I had a very difficult eps question last time so I'll try to squeeze that in too. If I pass, it would be a miracle. I'm going into this with no pressure on myself and just try to learn from the experience. The first attempt at FAR was a rushed nightmare.

Hello all,

So FAR is very hard to study for! I am having a pretty hard time with inter-company transactions. Especially the sale of inventory and the eliminating JE. I seem to sort of get what they say in the book but the MCs are confusing.

Does anyone have notes/suggestions/ect as to how to better understand Inventory eliminating JE and the relating MCs? I am currently using Becker. Does it make sense to purchase a second set of software?

I figured I'm just gonna keep going through and learning as best I can 🙂

In terms of FAR, I am not amazing at JEs either, but I just try to understand the theory behind the questions – why DR why CR what are they buying/reversing/expensing ect -that helps me. So I guess deep breath and try to understand what the thought behind the JE is – it never worked for me to memorize the material – i must understand at least a larger part of it.

I am waiting for FAR which is my last section (Sat 4/29) and I lose credit for BEC on 7/31/2010. If I have to retake FAR prior 7/31 and I pass, but do not receive my score until after 7/31 will I still lose my BEC credit?

@ rmurph33 – each state board sets their requirements for the 18 month window so it would be best to call your state board for that specific information

@rmurph33, I am fairly certain that the 18 month window is first TEST DATE to last TEST DATE. I know several people who have taken their last exam as a 2 for 1, as in if they didn't pass the last one they would lose the first one, and were in your same situation and it was based on dates of the exams not on when you received your score.

I understand. It's just so hard to focus on the next section when there has been ample time to grade tests and send out results. I wish they had already implemented the faster grading/release process so we would know sooner!

I know everyone says the Wave 1 cutoff is May 7th… unfortunately I took it May 10th. Has anyone received a FAR score in Wave 1 that took it later than the 7th? Just curious! Good luck everyone!
