Has anyone done the supplemental questions in Becker? I'm getting about 40%. They seem so much wordier and with more exceptions, or maybe it's just me. I have little patience with these questions today. Were these actual questions? Yikes!

The answer to your question is no. You won't see none of those in actual exam. However, those wordier, involving lot of calculations questions clarifies you concepts even more and prepares you for any type of questions on the exam day. My experience, I saw questions on fringe topics not really covered by becker and the overall exam was fair. The topics I was most scared of like consolidations, pensions, cash flows had may be one question each. Unfortunately,I had a lot of questions from chapter 1.

The exam I took in January did not have very much from F5-F7. I was shocked. There were some challenging questions, but not what I expected.

I am forcing myself to do the supplemental just to understand the concepts a little better, but I don't recall many questions of this caliber on my last exam. The same with the simulations. I do those just to understand the overall picture but as far as my actual exam, it was nothing like Becker's simulations. Journal entries on every tab.

I had a few fringe topics too and I still have not been able to locate how to answer some of those questions.

I did all the supplemental the first time. Forgetting FAR… I never passed when I didn't do the supplemental so I started to do them. They are way more difficult so I'd never do them. Once I did though, I started passing haha. I would recommend doing it even if you don't score well cuz you'll learn more than just doing the normal Q's.

I did do the supplemental questions the first time but someone told me now: forget abt the supp questions. I am not going to do them this time. I only have about 2 weeks till my exam and all I want to do this time is to go through the lectures one more time, do the main questions one more time. I had printed all the questions before and I wrote on each question the corresponding page of the book with the related concept (Becker provides this information). Now going through them again I write on each question the main take away from it in case I have time to fly through it one more time. In my book I mark the concept with blue check mark. The day of the exam I spend about 2 hours with my book going quickly over the highlighted stuff and looking over the blue checks as well. It sounds like a big deal but it saves me a lot of time at the end.

I also had fringe topics on my exam but I don't know how to deal with them. They are not even covered by the supplemental q's.

If you're running low on time, I would recommend doing the progress tests in Becker. It pulls from the supplemental and regular questions. I found them very, very helpful.

    Hi, everyone!

Newbie here. As most of the people who just took FAR this May said, journal entries were the killers. I am scheduled to take FAR this May 28th but is planning to resched it sometime in early July. Is there a possibility that the same exam given to the second window be also given to the 3rd window? Or, do they just scratch everything out of the system when a certain window ends? Is it like when a new window opens all the exam are brand new questions/simulations?

    FAR: 7/3(87)
    BEC: 8/31(75)
    AUD: 11/15(81)
    REG: 8/31(83)
    I'M DONE!!!!!

    p_prince5,

It all depends on if it is the 1st or 8th time I've been through the material. 1st time I'm usually about 60%, after that 75-85%. Don't get discouraged. These questions are chosen to make you think.

    elsie,

    Are you a NASBA state?

    elsie,

the scores are not here yet. you have to find our whether youre nasba state or independent state. I am in virginia, not a nasba state. I check my score in the virginia board of acctcy page, the same way as i sign for a new section, the score just appears there.

Pursuit, Rahul and other who took the exam during this window I have a question for you. People say the tabs are all JEs this time. Are the JE consistent with Becker material or it is just out of the blue? If you had to open Becker's book, would you be able to find the JEs there? I am asking because I have the feeling that sometimes the JEs I find in the simulations are basic stuff that you cannot even prepare properly for. So I often find myself wasting some time thinking what the h** is this…Thanks a lot. If you feel this is too much disclosing forget abt it…
