Can anyone recommend a good simulation prep package for FAR other than Becker?

In my opinion, if you know the MCQs, you know the sims. Just practice a Sim at cpa-exam.org and you should be fine.

I passed the CPA Exam without practicing sims…including my 92 on REG.

I passed REG, AUDIT and BEC the first time using Becker but the simulations for FAR were unbelievably difficult even though I felt ok with the multiple choice. Do any other preparatory materials have simulations that are set up similar to the actual exam like Becker?

I've never done a practice sim. I tend to think if you know the mc that it will flow into the sims for the most part.

My exam is 2.5hrs! I'm just reviewing the book and my notes right now. I re-wrote all of the ratios last night and hitting the big items right now. I can't wait to for this to be over!

Hye can someone tell me should i be memorizing all the ratios in tht becker homework reading …i m quite familiar with the turnover ratios, current ratios, debt equity etc…but should i be memorizing those operating cash flow/ retrun on investment kind of ratios as well…there weren't any questions on Becker on those so i just ignored it …please let me know if its worth devoting time on those..

Thanks! 🙂 You know, I tried to memorize most them because you never know which ratio will show up. If there was a tab in the sim about ratios, then you'll be prepared. I wouldn't spend a ton of time but at least review it.

The testing center called that I can come take it early so I'm off!!! Here goes nothing!

When I took FAR, there were some basic ratio MC questions (nothing too tricky)… I also noted in my simulations that the “resource” tab had a link with all ratio formulas. Just a thought.

Yikes! You guys weren't kidding that it seemed like the test is harder this time.

The first testlet was manageable and the second was much harder. The third was in the middle. There were some I just had to totally guess on. And the sims? Don't get me started lol. JE's JE's JE's!!! At least I made it out alive! If you're still studying, I would suggest doing tons of progress tests if you're using Becker and don't underestimate NFP and Gov't…. and Statements of Cash Flows.

I'm going to keep studying for FAR this time. I have a feeling we'll cross paths again in July.
